Finally, some attention on our biggest under performer

Featured Replies

Yes too late now the only upside would be the salary space created.

He is off anyway lets concentrate on a replacement.

He's off? Linky?

I agree but his brake out seasons next year...

But Col has so much potential Hhahahahaha Hohohohohooh hahahhhaahahah

The jerk should have been cut a lifetime ago is everything wrong with the club never ever worked hard enough > Just go away Col

Sylvia would be a champion if he had come up under Sheedy @ the Bombers, or under Clarkson @ the Hawks or Bomba @ the Cats.

Again your just looking for a scapegoat.

Jnr there is no getting past the failing of the club... Its our culture, not onfield, the Nature of the Club is the clubs achilles heel.....

We do not have enough Fire in the belly... we hoist kids up onto pedestals when they're almost ready for their fist game, & then 3Yrs later wanting to point the finger of blame at them for all our Ills.

We as a club have to harden up, & stop the finger pointing,,, as many here have blamed a former player for, now where do you suppose that character trait was learnt from, by that player???

Agree with much of what you say, but Col Sylvia appears to bludge a fair bit. His stats this year would indicate that he is well and truly under performing and has done this for the bulk of his career. He is fortunate to be still at the Dees.

He has the occasional habit of playing well for a quarter of football, usually when we are going well, only to disappear after kicking a big goal or taking a speccy. When the going gets tough, he goes missing. Under-achiever.

Might be lining up for the Merbein Magpies in 2014.

Exactly.

But the mob finds simple solutions, scapegoats and slogans more attractive. And Col, to them, is an easy target.

BullShiite. He is lazy. I dare you to watch him for a whole game.

10th year. Never finished inside the top 5 for the B&F. What does that tell about what the club thinks??

We are devoid of on field leaders and he is the prime candidate in the prime age group that should be the mainstay of our team.

Stop making excuses for him. Its pathetic.

Agree 100%

Sylvia's efforts on Saturday night were outright embarrassing. Was at the match on Saturday and we watched him closely for most of the game.

He simply doesn't work hard enough to get to the contest.

I've always had a lot of hope for him, but after watching him closely on a number of occasions I can't see him ever fulfilling his potential at Melbourne.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
