Ling no go as mids coach

Featured Replies

Is it time now to speak his name again? It's only been ten years.

Shane Woewodin.

A midfielder ahead of his time in training effort, known for intelligently targeting relevant and practical strength, who excelled beyond his 'natural talent'.

Then coached very successfully at the state level with East Fremantle, and has for a few years now as midfield coach at Brisbane overseen the progress of guys like Redden, Rockliff and so forth, a few of whom were later picks partly on account of fitness and commitment questions.

I'd love to have him back at the club, for all the right professional reasons, with the 'prodigal return' a bonus.

Wish I had thought of this. Could also teach a few how to run from half back on the G, bounce 4 or 5 times and kick goal of the year

Can't we whinge about it anyway, and throw in a dose of how hopeless we are at everything while we're at it?

like getting Mitch Clarke?

Carlton made a play to get Cam Ling as an assistant, as did GWS, but he's staying with Channel 7 for 2013.

Shame, would have loved him to take Royals spot should he not be around.

It would have been good to stop seeing his ugly mug on t.v also.

Learning to Speak, the Lingo, in Camera.

Training to be a Head Coach, media training as he goes.

Easy on Lingy. I reckon he's got a head that could only be on TV in 2 countries in the world - Australia and Ireland (They don't have TV in NZ yet do they?). Everywhere else he'd be kept from the spotlight.

He's a rare species and I like a bit of ginger diversity on the box.

Don't forgot Tassie? Aussies own Jurassic Park.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
