I immediately felt bad after I started the thread because I found out he has/had cancer. But then I thought: he's still a nutter.

Never let a terminal illness stop you from hanging it on people.

Although Don Scott was a proud carrier of the manbag from a very early period.

One could even call him a pioneer.

Yes Don was with us long before Kel Night....

I can't get over the massive brouhaha that he led over the merger, only to say that he doesn't give a stuff and didn't watch the 2009 GF.

Lest we forget that we voted for the merger...

I'd wear all the manbags and silk scarfs in the world for the success that this guy is happy to ignore.

The most intriguing thing from that interview was the relevation that he plays tennis with Mike. And how uninteresting he is beyond the wonderful observation that once your career is over you get out but the club and game goes on...Wayne Carey pliease take note.

Just watched "The Hangover" for the first time last night.(I saw part 2 first)

If Zach Galifianakis can wear one with pride and call it a satchel then so can I.

Thanks Don-you really did something for all those guys that want to carry a phone ,wallet ,keys ,tobacco ,papers ,pot ,pills and sunglasses together without appearing um , er .......

effeminate.

I'll never get over the fact that this man is the reason why the Demons still exist today.

I'm not sue that that's definitive.

The Demon Alternative would have taken the Melbourne FC Board to court due to the amount of people stuck outside of Dallas Brooks Hall unable to get in and vote, as well as underhand tactics. There would have been far more to play out.

As for Scott ? I like his no BS approach, although I acknowledge that his black and white views are often far too shallow.

Nutter, totally.

scotty is a neanderthal metro sexual.

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

The dominant storyline coming out of Round One for Sunday’s clash at Optus Stadium centres on the influence of the big men. The spotlight naturally falls on two elite ruckmen who, five years ago, shared the stage in Melbourne’s memorable premiership triumph.

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.

Never in doubt!!! In Steven King’s first game at the helm of the Melbourne Football Club, the Dees outlasted Saints in a wild, momentum-swinging thriller at the MCG, running out 13-point winners.
