Terry Wallace on our trading/drafting

Yeah I think Terry is off his mark with that trade.

Sylvia will have currancy but he and Clark are probably our only a-graders. Sylvia is one of my favourite players and when he is on you know what he is capable of. I doubt he has a huge impact on the other players leadership wise, but no one is perfect.

But two points that should be made. McKenna said yesterday that the last thing is club needs is more young players and draft picks. They are after strong bodies and experienced players. Secondly if you dont think Caddy has potential have a look at what his older brother used to do - all be it at the North Heidelberg. he was a marauder - feared by all.

So his younger brother - if he lives up to his potential - could eventually be an asset. And a much needed toughnut.

Pick 80? Caddy was a top rounder so your joking... But whether we can come to a trade is the question.

BTW - Boak's agreement to stay at Port Adelaide was made on the basis that Matthew Primus stays. Now he is gawn, he's leaving!

Also I know that Talia wanted to come to the Demons...

Morton was 4, Gysberts 12 and Cook 12

Would you give those picks for them now?

Of course not.

It is what you do after the Draft that matters and Caddy has been anything but wonderful.

I will stick with 80

To be fair OD It's Caddy's second season. In Morton's second season or even after Gysberts first season, you would have gotten a lot more and thats what you have to compare it to... not Morton now.

Pick 80 is a ridiculous call and you are just trying to get a rise out of people.

80 might be an ambit claim but seriously I do not believe he is worth more than a third round pick.

I just don't see anything more than an average player

What about Cook you left him off.

Where does he now fit

Caddy was pick 7 and Cook 12

Sylvia is most definitely not an A-grader.

LOL old dee, no more than a third round pick? I think you overrate draft picks way more than anyone here is overrating Caddy.

Sylvia an A-grader? Jesus Christ. What are we smoking in this thread? You have to be consistently great to be A grade. Sylvia is pretty much the antithesis of consistent. He's played maybe four A grade games in eight years.

I dont honestly i was trying to make the point that 13 AND a Moloney is way overs, i know he was rated very highly as a junior and is unhappy where he is seemingly, but Morton was highly rated too and isnt worth pick 13 atm so i am more with you Oldee. the question is will he be better just by being in VIC for the change or not? people seem to think so, Emme Qauyle ect rate him so...

Pick 13 will likely be a player like Wines, O'rourke, Garlett or Kennedy or Menzel who are all playing great U18's, Caddy is very much hype

Is Moloney worth a 2nd Rnd pick?

Is Moloney worth a 2nd Rnd pick?

Pick 13 and Moloney sounds abot right.

I think Moloneys a late second rounder - would''ve be a touch earlier, but he is a bit loose upstairs.

Caddy is going to be a very good player, he'd be an asset, he'll be better than Boak - and I dont even mind if we get Boak,

I just think Caddy is going to be a really good player.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
