So I came home and told my wife we are going to the Gabba tomorrow to watch the Demons train and she starts asking all the hard questions like is it free and which gate do you have to go to... My answers - which she didnt appreciate were: "Who cares" and "We'll start at gate #1 and go from there".

Can anybody help get me off the couch tonight?

Can anybody help get me off the couch tonight?

Obviously your answers to your wife didn't help you there.

the correct answer is invaribaly along the lines of:

" Im not sure darling...i'll find out. Im sure its free and easy to get into !! "

more flies with honey etc :)

To be honest it was a lot lighter thanihad expected. There were probably 30 to 40 supporters there. Unfortunately most of the training happened at the other end of the field.

It looks like they were doing the normal drills and warm ups but with a focus on communcation. There was a lot of shouting and calling by the players whenever they were looking for the ball.

The defenders did a training drill where two would be in a contested mark situation and then do a switch across front of goal, up the wing, then switch back across the 50m line. It will be interesting to see if they put this into action today. Not sure who the coach with them was, but I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't get s decent bruise from Jack Watts 'bumping' him out of the contest.

They all came over at the end and had a good chat and signed shirts, books etc and they all seemed pretty upbeat. The only concerns may be that the since the rain up here has stopped and it is actually quite warm today. Jamar said that when they flew out of Melbourne that it was cold and rainy, so the weather might impact on them today and theydid ask a few questions about it.

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
