Butcher stuck his arm out jumped and turned his head away. Not even looking at the ball. He may not have gone up to hurt Sylvia but he didn't have any regard for his actions. It is the very definition of reckless.

Last year Sylvia slightly stuck his arm out while going for a bump and got two weeks.

A little bit shocked that Butcher didn't get at least one week. He clearly knew the collision was coming and could have avoided it.

The melee that followed immediately after shows that the players saw something too, which I think is a little more reliable than a camera.

Also, just saw the incident that got Jones reprimanded (from 3 different camera views). He sat on the guy, and it was called striking. Whoops. Lucky he has a good record!

Me personally, don't think he should've been suspended but should've been given a reprimand and given a stern warning. I don't think there was any malice, but it was extremely reckless and has seriously injured Colin. Who knows what ramifications he could have in later life because of this? Neck and backs are always bad news.

Was there Malice in Trengove tackling Dangerfield last year? In that case they took the supposedly serious nature of the injury into account and declared it illegal anyway. The same should apply here. This is yet another case of bias in the administration. Certain clubs get away with murder (or close to in this case) while others can't even breath on the opposition without being penalised.

Hi 'Webber', do the fractured bony hooks displace? Do they sometimes need aligning? What stops the muscle ligament attachment from pulling them apart from alignment?

Sorry for the delayed reply......these bony extensions are largely held 'non-displaced' by the massive ligaments attaching to them. There is no singular force pulling them this way or that....it's multidirectional, thus they stay in place. In answer to another query, if his pain subsides well, and he is able to move completely freely and with full force, he COULD be back sooner, but the fractures won't be united. Thus, if he were to get another impact/s in that area, it would perpetuate the non-union, and that's a problem. They'll be conservative I would think, given the season's start, and keep him out minimum 6 weeks from the injury date, which would mean round 5 return.
