Morton's stuck with us I think.

If there's no Real interest I think he'll take a 2 yr option. Which could mean, if he has a so so 2012, then we may find a trade whilst he has 1 Yr left. It may be for less though.

We have to fatten him like a Goose. Pate'?

If there's no real interest (there won't be) he'll take whatever offer he can get. Which would probably only be a year. I wouldn't offer him more than that.

He improves or gone-ski. Next year is his last year to prove himself

I think he's got 3 years before the AFL system wipes itself with him. But not at the one club.

I'd have round the other way

That is how I should have worded it:P

Tom $cully is GONE anyone who thinks otherwise is stupid, MFC would have offered $cully a very good contract prob somewhere between $600k -700k a year which im sure we can all agree is WAY! to much, that money plus some more (warnock, bate, dunn will prob want to leave for more opportunity) will free up a little more $$$ to attract Scott Pendlebury on a close to a million dollar a year deal post season 2012, he is way beter than $cully still young and would be the icing on the cake to our midfeild which would add young viney to that list at the end of next year. MFC need to attract a big name to the club it would do wonders for membership and supporter confidence.

We need a big name coach and a big name signing in the next year or two, something this club has needed for a long time imo

Slight problem here. He's already signed with GWS. Didn't you know? This is why he took the 1 yer deal at the pies. They want him as next year's marquee signing, when they will have more room in the salary cap.

Pendlebury will be a Demon in 2013!!!!

We will have the cash to pay him with Scully gone. I think Green & Davey may be out of contract aswell... $$$$

Wouldn't this be great Mick Maltshake signs on for coach after the finals for 5 years, Scott Pendlebury signs up from 2013 for 4 years.

Why would we want Pendlebury?

We already have Gysberts............

Because our midfield stinks and he is one of the best midfielders in the competition.

Exactly! And has leadership!

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
