Important Notice - The Finding The Next Jack Trengove Board

Featured Replies

Well it's that time of the year again.

Please post all Draft and Trade Talk in the new forum: The Find Another Jack Trengove Board

All Draft and Trade Talk in this forum will be moved to the forum linked above.

What is the reason for a new forum?

90% of topics in the next couple of months will be draft and trade related. Last year I thought it made the forum harder to read because I had to check two boards rather than one. Does it need to be split?

Popular demand and tradition.

It's that time of year again when we turn our attention to the upcoming trade and draft period so we've started the Demonland Trade and Draft Board named this year in honour of our newly crowned Demonland Player of The Year, Jack Trengove.

Jack is the youngest Demon ever to win this award and achieved the honour in only his second year at the club. He has also shown great loyalty to Melbourne by extending his contract when he could easily have held out for another year which was when his original deal was due to run out. I like to think of him as our version of Jimmy Bartel and a player destined to go on to achieve many higher personal and team honours in his career with the Demons.

Over the next few days we will be moving a number of threads across to the JT board so if you've posted something here about trades or drafts, don't panic - look around in the new board.

Enjoy.

Can't wait. I am so over the last two months.

Popular demand? I tend to agree it is annoying to have to remember to go to two separate spots to have a look when there should not be many other topics sprouting aside from the new Coach. But hey it sounds like the masses want it.....

Would welcome these trading posts to stay on the main board - it is foot related, and it is the only thing of interest for us (after the coaching gig) for the next few months...

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
