Injured List

Warning:

This is from the Herald Sun so you can take it with a little grain of salt. Although the injured list provided at the beginning says that the Warlpiri Wizard is out for the season, Ando lists him as doubtful. As you do when someone has already been ruled out until next year.

MELBOURNE

Addam Maric (foot) - test

Lucas Cook (hip) season

Michael Evans (hip) season

Jack Grimes (foot) season

Jordan Gysberts (wrist) season

Liam Jurrah (wrist) season

Ricky Petterd (quad) season

Jake Spencer (knee) season

James Strauss (leg) season

Austin Wonaeamirri (ankle) season

ON THE CUSP: Rohan Bail has been showing a bit for an in-form Casey team. Matthew Bate plays well every week but finds the gap between VFL and AFL hard to bridge.

ON THE BLOCK: Cale Morton has had an up-and-down season but his best is good. Luke Tapscott was down on possession last week while Jeremy Howe got involved when he came off the substitute bench.

ANDO’S FORECAST:

Liam Jurrah is in doubt for the Port Adelaide game.

Otherwise expect the group that showed some form against Gold Coast to be retained.

Of that list am i right to presume that only Spencer and Strauss have injuries which will affect their preseasons? Not counting anyone who goes in for post season surgery

It lists Jurrahs injury as wrist...is this correct?

Anyone got an update on grimes? Will he be right for the start of pre-season?

Who? I forgot he existed. Geez a season without an injury would be nice for Jack1

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
