IMO Tom Harley could be value as an assistant coach for our footy department. I'd like to get him over to Melbourne to take on the defensive post.

If Dean Bailey gets one more, having Tom close by could be a handy assistant for our climb. He strikes me as a likely Type.

Head of AFL NSW

Maybe we could also get adrian anderson as receptionist?

AFL NSW, so he's getting good experience for his future.

And a receptionist comes with the deal Hey? Sounds too good.

Beside your defeatist thoughts, I think he would seriously be perfect to have onboard.

(Maybe we could get him to play the sax for you, just to give you the Willy's)

His commentary has in no way inspired me that he'd be a great coach. All he likes to say is that he took marks in the backline and that every team should be as good as Geelong.

You could tell when Buckley was commentating that he will make a good senior coach, and especially when he was fresh out of coaching you could hear why Matthews was a great coach. I don't hear it with Harley at all.

Oh, really, OK. And I suppose you also recommended the Scott bros as well, like I did. And Wellman, & West,,,, & Ayers, but oh well, the game was changing in the '90's, wasn't it.

Oh, & by the way, Buckley hasn't made it Yet.

Let me say it again.

I wouldn't mind getting Leigh Matthews to be a Coaching Director @ Melbourne with Tom Harley as the Senior Coach... Sorry Ch-7 but I want your main men.

Leigh says it all here > http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/120035/default.aspx

Harley's our Man, get in early with Leigh to lead the Coaches, & us out of the mire.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
