Dean Bailey on AW

Party line on contract.

Trotted out his 12, 13, 14 year line.

Now about this weekend - called it crucial.

They turned the heat up on LJ - suggested that if it was in Melbourne he'd be in strife, but DB replied with the fact that he has been criticised on the tape.

I am not a big fan of DB but thought he handled himself well in this interview.

I think the MFC have done a very good job of handling the TS situation today.

Their relative abilities have gone up in my eyes today.

Dean was good on AW ... once again went into bat for Tom.

Everybody is sticking by him apart from the media (that ain't a story)

He always handles himself well, speaks well, doesn't get drawn in to media driven agendas.

I'm hoping that the teething problems with our performances are solely to do with a young and inexperienced list.

I would like him to bear the fruits of his hard work and coach the players when they have 80 to 100 games on board.

DD that is a long way off.

In the next 8 weeks He will need to win 4 or there may not be a 2012 let alone 80 - 100 games.

The AFL is a tough gig coaches outside the top 6 rarely survive more than 4 -5 years.

When doesn't he handle himself well, OD?

Of all the coaches, I think he's the best speaker. I don't think anyone else handles themselves as well as Dean does.

Well I just look at what happened with Mark Thompson at Geelong, many we calling for his head before delivering two premierships.

You could argue that Bailey has had a tougher year than last given the massive loss of experience (junior, bruce, miller) and a lengthy injury list to boot.

How have other coaches fared with young and inexperienced lists??? Hird? Scott? Voss? Hardwick? McKenna? Have they been able to extract consistent performances from teams which are at the same stages of development?

Right then. We should still have Neale Daniher, or Neil Balme, or John Northey.

Good grief [Face Palm]

Building a list from the ground up. Which of those coaches you mentioned have done what Thompson did, or what Bailey is trying to do?
