LRT is a less talented version of Ryan Ferguson. At least Ferguson has courage by the bucket-loads and can kick the ball.

One bad season from Miller, due mainly to injury, is no reason to pack his bags and send him away. He has done more than Sylvia (number 3 pick) and Bell (number 15 pick). Patience is a virtue nobody seems to have anymore.

If Miller had LRT's pace he'd be better.

The fact is, we as a footy side are in a quandary. Carroll and Rivers are better than Miller down back and Robbo and Neitz are better up forward. There aren't any many forward-lines that play 3 kpp's these days, so where does this unnnatural footballer fit in ?

BTW, it didn't look like a typo

Miller's got to go down back, for mine. He has size and he plays his best footy when he's running in straight lines. OP issues notwithstanding, he's not the sort of player who'll make you gasp with his agility.

He is a serviceable mark for a defender and reads the ball reasonably well in the air. However, he's no Jared Rivers.

As others have mentioned, we don't have a true centre half-back other than Holland. That's a role that needs filling in the next two years, because I don't think Dutchy will last much more past that. Miller looms as the ideal candidate.

He's just got to play well enough in the `Mr Fixit' roles he'll be given between now and then to remain on the list.

It's a very tight vote.

I went for the natural footballer.

I did too. :)

That's the plan.

Of course that seems like the logical plan. But apart from the first 20 seconds after a centre bounce do we ever have more than 4 players in our forward line?

Daniher loves to clear out he half forwards, presumably to give extra space for Robbo, Neitz etc but what happens when we move the ball forward slowly is that the opposition gets numbers across half back and we're stuck.

Dunn will be the long term option, but leading into finals you have to pick Miller, purely on body size. Dunn is too mature and his body would not stand up to the physical pressure of playing at CHF at 19 and under 10 games of AFL footy!

Miller has been alot better today today, which is a good sign.

Miller was impressive today. He is a genuine option at CHF providing we play most of our footy at the G. Top 4 so important.

Miller was better against the Roos but give me the natural forward against the flood.

Down back Miller is behind Carroll, Rivers in a couple of weeks, Dutchy, Warnock in front of Wheatley. Allthough I haven't seen the latter play for a long time.

millers days as a defender are gone. I'll be happy if he presents and leads all day providing a target.

Sorry jacey, gotta disagree. I think Miller's days as a forward are numbered. When Dunn fills out a little more, he looks the more likely option to me. The question is whether Miller can fill the position with sufficient success in the meantime to help us do a little September damage. I think the longterm future of Miller is down back.

its okay. I accept your apology.

I would personally love to see miller go down back and shore up the backline.

Being the third tall with carroll and rivers in the future but apart from beating hall on a couple of occasions, he has impressed me more as a presenting forward in the past.

He made his name as a CHF in 2004 and 2005 and was touted as future captain but in 2006, played a bit more in defense and has struggled.

You gotta play your players to their strength.

Miller was great against the Kangas

Took a superb contested mark smack bang at CHF, and dished off to Bater which almost resulted in a goal

Also took a strong contested grab on the wing, and one inside forward 50

he also should have booted 3 goals, but walked away with 0.2 and one kick that just fell short after confidently running around the man on the mark

Anyways, it was his best game in a long while

theres no debate .... deffiantley MILLER

dunn is a good youngster wat game has he played well in ? millers still young. melbourne plays its best footy when miller is leading up the ground and laying off to the running midfeilders... in 1 or 2 years dun may be just as valuable as miller . wait and see i guess.

Miller has his first decent game in months and he quickly closes the gap. He has a dog of a day tomorrow and he's useless again.

Don't you love those besotted by the 'moment'.
