I would firstly like to say that this is my first post and looking forward to talking the real issues with fellow cohorts. Just to qualify me though if I need too?, I was behind the goals when Brett Bailey put us in front in 87' Night granny to win it, I was there of course right on the 50m arc when Jimmy ran the mark (same yr) f&*( that was an initiation into our 1st final series for sometime), I was there when Jakovich scissorkicked a goal against Nth Melbourne in about 91 I think and went onto kick 12... I heard Brian Wilsons arm break in about 84 on the boundary fence, and I was there to witness a fantastic win over the bombers, when Ricky Jackson, Darren Bennett and Jako had a hand in turning a deficit in the last qtr into a win (@ Windy Hill, not an easy feat)... so I welcome all to ave a chat and reminisce at any time

Im a very keen soccer supporter (scouser, liverpudlian what ave you, the reds)as well, and have spent some time thinking about why MFC supporters have never been a sticking band or army if you will.. I welcome thoughts on some Anthems that we may get together as one and be proud of some of our players efforts and feats like Jurrah, Jamar, Maloney, (bend it like) Green and some upcoming talents like Jetta, Maric, Scully, Trengove, Watts, etc... my fingers are exhausted typing the list (its an exciting one).

I would like to post again shortly some ideas if I may, and hope you will join with me in a bit of fun and an opportunity to join us at the G for a chant and giving some [censored] to opposing supporters who go once in a blue moon or when they are winning flags, ring a bell!!

Some hits im compiling

Jamar- Kay Sa ra - he is a Demon Czar Jamar

My Home Ground town (MCG) (Springsteen)

Only Maloney (Only the Lonely- Roy Orbison)

Keep in touch. looking forward to some thoughts

Welcome to demonland DS

With a moniker like yours you'll get on like a house on fire with Titan Uranus

I think Jakovich kicked 11 that day in '91.

Brent Moloney is Brent MOloney.

Welcome. Interesting username.

Yep.

I can't even read the OP nor take it seriously with a username like that.

Seriously, sort it out!

Oh Artie where is your sense of humour

Not a great Username but at least he supports the Dees

Pisser of a screen name, we've been told to let it out...

Personally I think there's too much going on in footy for people to get into singing.

But good luck, would be cool if you could get something going.

reminds me of the old joke about the admirals daughter who'd had a gutful of seamen

May I borrow that one DC?

Have not heard it before and i thought I had heard them all.

Well I guess you learn something new every day!

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
