The Injury Plague Continues

I was sitting close to the interchange bench and distinctly noted Garland nodding his head in a 'she's right ' manner when he returned from the dressing room after initial treatment

Adrenilin can mask a players opinion...he now has a long term injury..

but i do know how to read certain books to enhance knowledge.

tell us more about these knowledge enhancement devices

Mate i walk on crutches myself every day...so when someone has a clear limp i notice it.

Have you any idea how many bones make up an ankle joint??

And no i am not a doctor, but i do know how to read certain books to enhance knowledge.

the way Garland was limping the pope over in Italy could see it. so it's remarkable that you noticed it. you certainly must read a heap of books. including topics such as culture in a nutshell no doubt.

... especially with the absence of Grimes.

On another note, what's the exact definition of a Long Term Injury? We can promote 2 rookies for Spencer and Grimes. But does Fitzpatrick's 8+ weeks constitute "long term" enough to promote another one?

8 weeks I think

I was close to the bench as well Joeboy. From what I saw after he came back from the rooms he ran up and back a couple of times fairly gingerly. He then shook his head as if to say 'no its not right'. Half a minute later he was given a footy, went for a bounce, came back and gave the nod. So not sure you can blame either the fitness staff or the player for that one.

For the query earlier about the Long Term Injury list, if you get placed on it you are not able to be selected in the seniors for 8 weeks. So it will be touch and go whether Fitzpatrick would be out for long enough, or indeed if there is a third player worthy of upgrading (assuming Grimes & Spencers spots get taken) .

So what are you inferring?? That Garland was fine to go back on & play a contact sport?

The Guy was injured.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
