What does the Melbourne Football Club stand for?

What do we believe in?

I think Barrassi, Stynes and Trengove are the shining lights that encapulate the principles of the MFC.

I believe in Determination!

i would love to know why Trengove is the one you have pulled out of a hat, what about the bloke who (was) VC, lifelong demon currently leading our B+F

and I don't think it is possible to have a better attitude than what Jones has

oh that's right they're too old to get any praise around here

Is cynicism your only trait C&B? Never an original offering?

unlike your good self whose 'offering' appears to be discussion about other posters. Nobody cares what you think about that

it's a day of idiotic statements today, and my pet peave is people perpetually talking up 18 year olds purely vecause they are 18 and haven't had to time to diappoint us yet

the unblievable irony that seems to be lost on just about everyone is that Nathan Jones was destined to be a club champion when he was 18 but he is now as popular as everyone else that is aboe 21, the redheaded stepson

Jones is a young champion, maybe our next captain.

He has all the attributes that typify what the MFC stand for.

I 'especially' like the way trengove goes about it.

geez you must throw the word champion around quite often

luv the way jonesy goes about it, he aint a champion tho, most likely never will be

agree he does have attributes that others lack and I would consider him to be in our top 8 performed players for the year

I never understand the "What does the club stand for" questions, I hear it in a media a bit, and it makes no sense to me.

There is no unique Melbourne Spirit. Certain players have spirit, but there is nothing about any AFL club that makes it special and different from the other 16. Barracking for a team is not like choosing to be a capitalist or a communist, or a Jew or Muslim, I don’t know anyone that has chosen a team based on political or spiritual ideology. Support normally stems from some random reason (Dad did is mine), but that doesn't make me have certain principals, and act like a ‘Melbourne Person’. I would share as many values as the average Collingwood or West Coast supporter as I would a Melbourne supporter, same with the players.

What do we stand for? MFC are a professional AFL side trying to win a premiership.

"I Believe"

I believe for every drop of rain that falls

A flower grows,

I believe that somewhere in the darkest night

A candle glows,

I believe for everyone who goes astray,

Someone will come to show the way,

I believe, I believe.

I believe above the storm a smallest prayer

Will still be heard,

I believe that someone in the great somewhere

Hears every word,

Every time I hear a newborn baby cry,

Or touch a leaf, or see the sky,

Then I know why,

I believe.

Every time I hear a newborn baby cry,

Or touch a leaf, or see the sky,

Then I know why,

I believe.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers braved the rain and headed down to Gosch's paddock to bring you their observations from the second day of Preseason training for the 1st to 4th Year players. Jefferson and Kentfield looked big and strong.  Petty was doing all the training. Adams looked like he was in rehab.  KE

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
