Let's hope so. Right now a strong gust of wind would have him worried.

weighs more than petterd and 3kgs less than garland while still getting bigger, your comment was true in the past

I think this year we really should be going for someone with some raw aggression and hunger for the contest rather than someone who can dominate open games against kids in the under 18's and score well on the high jump and beep test at draft camp.

Tapscott. Jetta also seems to like the bash and crash of tackling but may or may not make it.

I do agree that a couple more hard nuts wouldn't hurt but I think some of the kids might surprise you as they realise they are men and not boys.

Scully and McKenzie might make a difference...

I'm not sure it's aggression we are missing the most, so far this year I think the lack of unity, certainty, and assured direction is more damaging, and those things would lead to aggression.

Agree with that and I'm not saying guys like Trengove, McKenzie, Grimes etc won't get there in the future. I'm just saying it would be nice to recruit a ready made player for a change instead of someone who needs a couple years development in the system. I acknowledge Tapscott would have been this had he not been injured last year but it would be nice for a ready made player with a bit more height (like a Darling).

Next years Draft we will be ready to recruit some "Ready Made" Players...this has been a total rebuild don't forget. Gotta get the kids first though IMO

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

  • POSTGAME: North Melbourne

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
