Chiefs are all at sea.

If this was boxing, Niners smashed them with the first punch and have made the chiefs cover up and are wearing them with body punches.
Chiefs need a long drive here.

Tremendous TD by the Niners

And yeah, the Chiefs look lost and overwhelmed.  No decisiveness and seemingly no poise or purpose

Still, they are only 2 scores down and we know they are capable

As you said, they need to score on this drive, at least a 3 pointer

So it's a one score game at half time 10-3 in favour of San Francisco

The 49ers might feel that they should be further ahead whilst the Chiefs must feel that they have got off lightly

Exactly.

The thing now with the last play extended half is the Chiefs D gets a good rest, and the offence gets to re set and attach the ,idle without Greenlaw.

Niners get a chance to re group, re assure themselves that if they play like thatagain in the second half they will score more.

This first drive for Kansas just might set the tone for the whole second half, if the niners smack them again I reckon the game is 100% theirs.

if the chiefs level it then how do the niners respond. I mean they should have two things written on their whiteboard. Run, screen, run run run, screen run.

In terms of getting into the game and for their own confidence, the Chiefs need to score on this opening drive

It's not the end if they don't but continuity plays a big part in this sport

Game over.

Mahomes just lost this game right there.  As poor a throw as I’ve seen from him.

Interception!

Chiefs are just not switched on

Haha!

You've gone early Gorg!

Huge stop by chiefs D, then the perfect punt and position to let Pat take over at the 1.

Id rush 7

Yep, tbh nothing I’ve seen of the Chiefs offence has impressed me, even the big throw really prob should have been broken up.

But in saying that I thought the niners would score off the turnover to make it a two score game again.

It's been a defence dominated game.  Mistake-riddled

Was the total points over/under 52 points?

San Francisco should have put them away by now.  The Chiefs have been awful

I saw 46.5 and then a stat that in nearly all the niners post game (last 9 of 10 I think) were all under

Half-decent field position for the 49ers after that Chiefs punt

KC are going to have to hold them out again but even a 3 pointer for the Niners would be telling

3 and out again!

Defences well on top but will Mahomes finally show some magic on this drive?

Just got the first down, but tbh he doesn’t need magic, he just needs to make some 4-5 yards plays on first down so they aren’t so far behind the sticks.

Good drive by Mahomes but only the 3 points

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
