Our game is another high scoring one. Will the shoot-out continue?

I hope not! My nerves are already shredded here!

Gah! F! The Den secondary really made that along with Peyt's. For all the great stats, the playoff hope he is not the player he was. He and the team had a good reg season in a weak division and his neck/arm were the questions. They still are for mine. Can he at his age with that issue get better? Not sure he can and not sure they will progress much further into a playoff season if that is the case.

Good year but not good enough ppffftttt.

Another great great game Pack v 9ers! I don't care who wins they are both really exciting teams to watch. Still amazing to see Smith finished the season with the best QB rating ever and is not playing. Kap's running has been a highlight again so.

Same - copious quantities of coffee ain't helping either .

Righto Rodgers, do ya stuff (it's gonna be tough now!) 38-24

Looks over at this stage even with Rodgers at his best the 9's will get the ball at least 2 more times and look to score every time they have it.

Kaepernick has been like 'Superman' today - game of his career this one ... good on Harbaugh for making the switch.

It's done now - 45+ points is far too many to concede. San Francisco have been way too good and the Packers have been disappointing. An up and down season with some bad losses and some excellent wins.

No excuses

Two of the best games of playoff NFL you will see! While Broncs were losers today it was still an amazing game. Here is hoping the two games tomorrow are as good as todays.

Well that certainly was a 'career' game by Kap, and the Niners as a team beat all sorts of post-season records.

263 yards in the air and 183 on the ground for the QB (Most by any QB ever in a playoff!) are incredible numbers.

Good game in the first half, but was all one way in the second. A few of the Packers receivers (Jordy Nelson, Driver

never really seemed to be a factor in this game).

Good day for the Harbaugh family too!

Who wins tomorrow? I'd like to see Seattle win and then go to San Francisco. Surely the Pats win although the Texans would take heart from today. Houston win and they host the AFC Championship game.

The 'Kap' could have jumped up to elite status in one game . Wow, was he good ! To do that on the big stage says a lot about his temperament.

Gore, Crabtree and your defence were very good. Big 'Offence' today from the 49ers - very impressive .

What do you prefer - Seattle at home or @ Atlanta ?

Crabtree has also had a breakout year, hes our go-to guy on third down conversions this year.

I didnt make any predictions about this game beforehand as honestly I didnt think we would win.

Losing our #2 and #4 receivers (Mario Manningham and Kyle Williams) and #2 running back (Kendall Hunter)

to season ending injuries, and a questionably fit Justin Smith along with our indifferent form over the past month

left me quietly fearing the worst.

I'm torn with a preferred opponent next week, Seattle cut us to pieces a few weeks ago, but that was on the road

and they werent that convincing last week given RG3 was a non-factor so early.

Hawks are an unknown quantity to me, have barely seen them play all year. Matt Ryan needs to get the monkey off

his back of never having had a playoff victory, if he does they secure home ground advantage and that game would

be a real interesting one. I'd take Atlanta right now..

I cant see the Patriots losing tomorrow, and I really feel that was Baltimores 'grand final' today. so I think the Pats will be

in the Super Bowl yet again.

Agree with nearly all that DD, although the Ravens do match up ok against the Pats (that's if N.E win tomorrow of course)

It's a strange one with injuries - others get an opportunity and often step up.

Your team has now got all the weapons. QB was the question mark - not any more.

Good weekend of games That's for sure. Bad luck to green bay but they were outplayed and they just couldnt stop the Kap. That 49ers O line is pretty damn good.

I love watching flacco play. He loves a deep throw and is fun to watch. A good win but you would think the patriots await them and that's tough.

If I was a bronco's fan I would be a little worried about Peyton. He is a gun but when Favre came to my vikes it was the same situation. Favre got us within a inch of a Super Bowl but once he was finally finished we were left with nothing. We had no cap space and because we got close we had no good draft picks either. If Elway can get a succession plan in order they should be ok. Elway has done an amazing job.

All times AEDT ...you can click on any team for that teams ESPN page (stats and news etc)

Seattle and Pats. Seattle D will be too good, Brady will do in the Texans but the Pats D is the worry and has been for years.

Great weekend of games!

As a Bronco fan totally agree!!! Pey had his 2nd best season ever stat wise but the lame duck throws and int's throwing over 10 yards and to his right are a concern with his age. He ain't going to get any better. Who is next in line??? Will they get Tebow back?! (Jokes).

Will AP reach the bog goal of 2,500 yards he has predicted next year?

Peyton could get the broncs a ring but it will have to be soon. I'm sure Elway knows this. If AP says he can 2,500 yards who am I to disagree. He could claim to do that and win a brownlow in the red and blue this year and I wouldn't doubt him.

Tebow may end up in the CFL if nothing comes his way. The Jags have said no and I don't know what other teams are looking for a QB. You would think he wants a starting job because being a backup was a disaster for him and the Jets. If everyone had to pay a tax of $1 to have the right to comment or talk about Tebow world hunger would be cured ten times over.

The Pats should win easily. The Texans D will fight all day but Schaub can't go toe to toe with Brady. He couldn't at home against Ponder so Brady will do what he did to them in the regular season.

Total man crush on Elway I was in Fort Collins Colo when they won the 1st championship but I'm not as sold as you on Peyt's. he will need some more help on D and just manage the ball short.

If any team is looking for. Starting QB Alex Smith will be the one they chase.

Smith is a logical choice for any team needing a starter. His only downfall is he doesn't have a deep arm like the Kap. That is why the move was made at the 49ers even when smith was declared healthy. When Ponder was struggling I wanted Smith because he will move the ball downfield with long drives and with AP by his side it would be dangerous. Smith could fit in at the Chiefs with Charles running game. I don't tink Vick has much left in the tank but someone will take him.

Now that would be an interesting prospect at the Viles, but what would you have to give up, is Smith still under contract?

Also an interesting take on Tebow CFL

  • CASEY: Sydney

The Casey Demons were always expected to emerge victorious in their matchup against the lowly-ranked Sydney Swans at picturesque Tramway Oval, situated in the shadows of the SCG in Moore Park. They dominated the proceedings in the opening two and a half quarters of the game but had little to show for it. This was primarily due to their own sloppy errors in a low-standard game that produced a number of crowded mauls reminiscent of the rugby game popular in old Sydney Town. However, when the Swans tired, as teams often do when they turn games into ugly defensive contests, Casey lifted the standard of its own play and … it was off to the races. Not to nearby Randwick but to a different race with an objective of piling on goal after goal on the way to a mammoth victory. At the 25-minute mark of the third quarter, the Demons held a slender 14-point lead over the Swans, who are ahead on the ladder of only the previous week's opposition, the ailing Bullants. Forty minutes later, they had more than fully compensated for the sloppiness of their earlier play with a decisive 94-point victory, that culminated in a rousing finish which yielded thirteen unanswered goals. Kicks hit their targets, the ball found itself going through the middle and every player made a contribution.

Hands up if you thought, like me, at half-time in yesterday’s game at TIO Traeger Park, Alice Springs that Melbourne’s disposal around the ground and, in particular, its kicking inaccuracy in front of the goals couldn’t get any worse. Well, it did. And what’s even more damning for the Melbourne Football Club is that the game against St Kilda and its resurgence from the bottomless pit of its miserable start to the season wasn’t just lost through poor conversion for goal but rather in the 15 minutes when the entire team went into a slumber and was mugged by the out-of-form Saints. Their six goals two behinds (one goal less than the Demons managed for the whole game) weaved a path of destruction from which they were unable to recover. Ross Lyon’s astute use of pressure to contain the situation once they had asserted their grip on the game, and Melbourne’s self-destructive wastefulness, assured that outcome. The old adage about the insanity of repeatedly doing something and expecting a different result, was out there. Two years ago, the score line in Melbourne’s loss to the Giants at this same ground was 5 goals 15 behinds - a ratio of one goal per four scoring shots - was perfectly replicated with yesterday’s 7 goals 21 behinds.
This has been going on for a while and opens up a number of questions. I’ll put forward a few that come to mind from this performance. The obvious first question is whether the club can find a suitable coach to instruct players on proper kicking techniques or is this a skill that can no longer be developed at this stage of the development of our playing group? Another concern is the team's ability to counter an opponent's dominance during a run on as exemplified by the Saints in the first quarter. Did the Demons underestimate their opponents, considering St Kilda's goals during this period were scored by relatively unknown forwards? Furthermore, given the modest attendance of 6,721 at TIO Traeger Park and the team's poor past performances at this venue, is it prudent to prioritize financial gain over potentially sacrificing valuable premiership points by relinquishing home ground advantage, notwithstanding the cultural significance of the team's connection to the Red Centre?
