Decided to make Monday's games a little more interesting. Took the Panthers to win by 13+

Eagles to win 7-12

Jacksonville 13+

And a 4 leg multi with eagles, pats, jags and niners to win.

Can't believe the Jags & Panthers are such outsiders, both serious value in the H2H betting

It's nearly always a curious week (week 17) ... the teams in contention that have to win, usually win, and those teams that don't have to win, don't usually win.

Teams that have secured a playoff berth and can't move from that spot often rest their starters and other teams that are completely out of it only have pride & future contracts on the line.

It's reflected in the betting markets.  The lines & head-to-head odds are a lot different to what we normally see - it's actually a good betting week if you can get your head around what is going on.

It wouldn't surprise to see the Bills,  49ers,  Titans,  Denver & Dallas all win ... all 5 of those teams are favoured to win where as ordinarily they'd nearly all be underdogs.  And every season in week 17 it's a similar story.

It's hard to see any of the Ravens,  Chargers,  Vikes,  Pats,  Steelers,  Seahawks & Saints losing either.

I went Philly for a few reasons, Foles needs more time with their O and they have tge bye and they hate the cowboys so still want to win.

Niners cos they cant lose against what the Rams will field.

Jags should beat titans. Not sure if they are resting players?

Pats should roll the jets and can lose top seed.

Panthers can still get second seed if all goes their way. 13+ is a massive ask but thats why the odds are so good.

Marrone has said Jags starters will be playing until the result is beyond doubt. Whatever that means.

I gather it means that as long as there is a chance to improve their position they will keep their starters on the field. I hope that is after they are 23 points up! ?

Locked in at #3 but can kill off the Titans and not play them again next week.

On the pi$$ & will be ready for 8:25am tomorrow on 7mate... Not confident at all but will be treating it like a playoff game

I'm hoping you win for your sake JV.  You never know,  the team might click into gear if they get into the playoffs.

The Panthers deep-down must know that the Saints & Vikes are not going to slip up and that realisation may be apparent by half time of your game.

I do like the scheduling though ... the games that matter being played at the same time.

Ergggghhhhhh

Foles benched halway through the second quarter. Looked terrible. 0-0 witg 2 mins to go in the half.

Browns are taking it up to the steelers.

Buffalo New Orleans KC

Ficken makes his first FG attempt. That's pretty much the story i care about in the Rams game.

Jags have no [censored] idea when playing the Titans.

Yeah they are not playing well at all.

I'm just cheering on the Bills! Hope they make it!

That TD helps. How good was Kyle Williams getting a rushing TD for the Bills?

At least one of us will go through Gorg... I'm not that confident, will be a tough task for us. Hopefully it's on Sunday rather than Monday

Yeah avoiding scores at work is hard.

Next Week (all times are AEDT) ...

Sun 8.35am ...... Titans @ Chiefs

Sun 12.15pm .... Falcons @ Rams

Mon 5.00am ..... Bills @ Jaguars

Mon 8.40am ..... Panthers @ Saints

Just imagine being a Ravens fan at the game - gut wrenching.

Well done to the Bills though ... 17 long seasons without playoffs and they finally make it!

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
