Missed the first two. Pittsburgh and Green Bay tomorrow.

Falcons looked very very good.

Pats also looked decent at times but vulnerable as well. A decent QB means that game is closer.

Wrapt with how the Falcons played.. Offense just keeps on putting up points but I was impressed with the defense, kept Wilson to 225 yards & had two INT. Intresting tomorrow in the NFC game. I'd rather go to Dallas in the NFCCG rather than have Rodgers come into the Dome.

Feels good to finally have a successful sporting team since the dees in 2006!

Wow the packers are looking scary good.  21-3 with 7 mins to go in the half. I backed the packers to win between  7-12 points.

Stupid packers and Cowboys. Needed the win by 7-12. Not 3... Flogs.

As for the Packers/Dallas game, I could only listen via tunein but that's as good as sports radio can get.  It sounded like the game had everything and I'll watch the replay later.

As it's turned out, one of JV7 or myself will have a team in the SB and that's a good result, all things considered.

It's a cracking game.

Well worth watching. Good thing is out of those two teams, both with great offence and Pats most likely getting there we should have two offensive teams in the SB.

*it was only $5 so very responsible ?

The way Rodgers & the Packers won that game with 10 seconds remaining was the exact reason why I didn't want to play them.. Would have taken Dallas in Dallas over the Packers at home, not too confident against Rodgers!! But one of us will be there Macca (Packers have had their turn, give a small time team thats never won a SB a chance :P)

I reckon the Pats/Steelers game is an even money bet ... same as the NFC Championship game although the odds makers will no doubt see it differently.

... Actually, I checked and it's Atlanta -3.5 and the Pats -5.5.  Home teams normally get 3 points in evenly matched games but the Steelers will be right in it.

It's too late to change it this year but we could in the future make the Championship games worth 2 points each in the post-season comp.

Next week's games

Monday 7.05am ...... Packers @ Falcons

Monday 10.40am .... Steelers @ Patriots

Falcons 35 - Packers 34

Genuinely can't believe I'm tipping us to make a SB. If I wasn't a Falcons fan I'd have the scores swapped around. Doing a dodgey at work Monday  gotta be home to watch this live

Patriots 27 - Steelers 24

Edited by JV7

Packers 31 Atlanta 30

Steelers 24 Patriots 21

I have to pick the Packers but I'm concerned about how we're possibly going to limit Atlanta's scoring power ... although the same could be said in reverse with Rodgers and his WR's.  I'd be surprised if it's not a high scoring game.

And I reckon the Steelers can provide an upset ... they'll need to be at their best and hope that New England are off their game a trifle.  The game should be a close one regardless.

Any word on Jordie Nelson and if he will play this week?

In my opinion he won't play again this season ... but I'm a realist.

Yeah I can't see him playing. Bit toy never know.

I'd sit himand if you make the SB get him cherry ripe for that.

Broken ribs can take an age ... at least 4 weeks but more like 4 to 6.  I've just learnt to never be too hopeful with these sorts of injuries.

If we get through to the SB I'll see it as a bonus if Nelson suits up and is as involved in as many plays as usual.  He might suit up and be involved in selected plays.  That's more realistic.  He'd almost certainly have to wear a back plate anyway ... and that can be restrictive for a WR.

Besides all that, if we lose without him so be it.  There are no excuses (apart from if Rodgers was out) ... and that would be a reason, not an excuse.

Davonte Adams is under an injury cloud too, McCarthy said he wont practice until Saturday... Saw the injury report for GB this morning, had a long list but majority would be active come Sunday you'd think

May the best team win! @Macca

Yes, I concur JV... and that best team might be the team that has last use of the ball.

It's been a great ride for both our teams but only 1 team will go on.

Good luck to you both. Its the wifes bday today so I'll prob not get to see both games so will need to avoid everything fir a few days...

Congrats JV ... far too good and fully deserved victors.

Good luck in the SB!

Thanks Macca... That offense is too good. Injuries further crueld you guys from the opening kick off. Bring on the SB, not sure if I want Pats or Steelers...

Ryan was great but you had winners all over the field ... the Patriots will be much tougher opposition (especially from a defensive point of view) but you've got the weapons to win it.

An evenly matched SB coming up although the Patriots obviously have an edge in experience ... it's all above the shoulders from here on in.  Confidence is not an issue so you're every chance.

Should be a good game.

flacons did to the packers something I've not seen in a long time, the first two packers drives should have ended better but that is football and the flacons capitalised where GB couldn't, if the Falcons play like they did in the first half then they will win.

Pats D will possibly be the difference between the two and if I was the Falcons I would sit on Hogan.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
