Deep into the first quarter:-

Norwood 1.0.6

Central District 3.0.18

Centrals have played in the last ten grand finals and won eight flags!!!

Centrals had the advantage of the breeze in the first quarter and opened up an 18 point lead.

Centrals 4.1.25

Norwood 1.1.7

Fantastic scenes here in Adelaide as Norwood kicks six goals in the first 18 minutes of the second term thanks to a strong breeze at their backs.

Norwood 7.3.45 v Centrals 4.2.26

Half Time and Norwood holds a 17 point lead:-

Norwood 7.4.46 v Centrals 4.5.29

Goals

Norwood Davis 2, Rowe, Terlich, Shenton, Phillips, Trotter.

Centrals Callinan, Jenner, C. Gowans, Schell

Thanks for the updates guys.

With a bit of luck the season could be well and truly saved for the red and the blue in Adelaide of all places!

The fat lady hasn't even started to clear her throat yet. The Bulldogs are a hard team to beat and their supporters are every bit as strange as Collingwood's.

Two goals to Centrals brings them to within 3 points about 10 minutes into the third quarter.

Draftwatchers might be interested in a mature small defender Paul Puopolo who is having a good day in the back pocket.

Spoke too soon. His opponent puts Centrals in front by 3 points.

Go Redlegs with the gale in Q4!!!!

Centrals by 11 points late in the third. Legs need to hold on for the next few minutes and then come home with a stiff breeze.

There goes the bell.

Central District 9.11.65 v Norwood 7.6.48

Won't be easy from here despite the wind advantage.

Dogs get their first against the wind and lead by 20 points - 12 minutes in.

Redlegs haven't goaled since the middle of the second quarter.

Norwood fall short 9.11.65 to 10.11.71. That first goal to Centrals against the wind in the final quarter did us in.

Sigh. There was a time in the early 1980s when 17 points down at the end of the third quarter would've meant we were sure to win. Beloved Norwood.

Bad luck to the Redlegs.

No grand old flag for Norwood.

What a sensational run from Central District - 9 premierships in 11 seasons!!!

It has been meaningless for two decades, truth be told. Centrals were always the Western Bulldogs of today -- unable to seal the deal -- until the league was gutted.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
