Max Gawn in the Casey twos?

Featured Replies

I saw him play a bit in the Casey Twos the previous week against Port Melbourne and the week after he said in an interview that his doctor said his knee had pulled up fine.

Why didn't he play the following week? I would like to see him play as many games as possible before heading into the pre-season.

Illness from what I heard

i stand corrected. apologies. Just reading jamar's article and hearing someone else say he played. Lying is the language of the AFL i guess

Sounds as if he was preparing to play but a decision was made closer to gametime to not play him. Pretty par for the course, particularly for a young bloke I'd have thought.

According to Matt Burgan, he genuinely had a virus last week.

Will be playing Casey reserves this week and aims to play casey seniors before the end of the year

Max was ill during the week so he wasn't risked last weekend.

He should be good to go in the Casey reserves on Sunday against Box Hill Hawks.

Thanks for confirming this, however Mark Jamar's feature on the MFC site stated that Gawny asked him to assist him against the Collingwood talls. The Russian must have got too mixed up with Fitzy. The Russian must have been celebrating his current form on too much vodka.

Max Gawn in the Casey twos? Why didn't he play in the Casey Twos against Collingwood?

Actually, Collingwood doesn't have a reserves side. Casey twos played last week's curtain raiser against Sandy twos.

As has been said earlier, Max didn't play because he was ill the week before.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
