Correct me if Im wrong, but I think Tony is the one who was behind the idea in the first place on Demonology and here.

Congratulations on getting this off the ground. Although not the original idea which was first floated, it was a great move!

Does this mean that the original idea was not accepted by MFC/MCC. Does anyone know. The worse thing will be if only a few people get behind it and it is an abject failure which will be really embarassing for the club and Jimmy. It would be better that it doesnt happen or happens at a later time when there is more time to organise it.

I believe the original idea was to create one big banner all about Jimmy. Correct me if I am wrong guys.

It doesn't matter - the thing is the respect and love we want to return to Jimma.

Yes it was but the MCC had issues with that idea I think so it morphed into banners with a Jimmy best moments on them. We have been waiting on a meeting with MFC on Friday for news but still there is nothing. I havent checked with Demonology site but will do now.

It sure is. Great move by Tony, he should be really congratulated.

Thanks longsuffering.

No nothing but a link to the MFC site. It is a pity that it couldnt be kept in house so that it would be a surprise to Jimmy on the day. I suppose now that it is "out" we should be encouraging everyone to do their bit even if it is to wear a number "11" on their backs, fronts anywhere just to show our support for Jimmy in his fight.

As I understand it this is an opportunity for ALL MFC supporters to say thank you to Jimmy for his efforts in turning the clubs fortunes around. And show him our support in general. Especially the Kids account the Reach Foundation.

So it is now our chance to show our Club Champion and Club Savior how much we appreciate his efforts in doing so. So again please LETS ALL GET ON BOARD with this on Sunday.

I believe there will be a professionaly made banner on match day. And more publicity to follow as I undersatnd it.

GO DEE'S

Well done Tony :)

Cheers mate!

Hi All,

I’m finally able to give you some further information.

As others have eluded to , $$ and other items like logistics, OH&S and getting the appropriate mix for Jim , has changed the original idea floated by Haydo. In fact it changed several times as each of the issues was dealt with.

We have ended up with a smaller, but excellent quality banner from ‘The Banner Lady’. To allow everyone to contribute and make the day bigger and better, everyone is being asked to make their own banner to Jim or the MFC. The club liked the idea and have decided to promote our banner and the significance of it on the website (link to article :- Make your own banner.

There will also be 5000 placards available and the cheersquad will be onboard with their contribution.

Over the next couple of days there will be more media around this so the momentum will grow.

To make this day work, we need involvement from as many people as possible. SO PLEASE GET INVOLVED AND MAKE THIS INTO A GREAT DAY FOR JIMMY.

Remember you have 4 days to make a banner. A great idea if you have kids to keep them occupied while on school holidays. So get out the old bed sheets , crepe paper , paints , textas , whatever you can , to show your support for Jim and the mighty Dees.

If that's not enough to get you motivated, then remember the club is kicking in $250 worth of merchandise for the best banner.

I will add more in the coming days.

Thanks

This was a banner a mate and I made for last year's QB...didn't turn out great.

I'd love to see a big/quality version of it!

Unfortunately no.

It got pretty ruined in the rain - fiancée recently made me get rid of it!

Who's the boss then :)

Great banner though. Lets hope we get a lot for Sunday.

Hey All,

How are those banners going ?

Just spoke to the cheersquad , and they have a couple of great banners etc planned.

This will be a great day if everyone gets involved. It could even be used as a launching pad for even more events if there is good participation.

Lots happening at the club at the moment. Time to show how much the Red n Blue means to you.

Cheers

Just got a look at the final products.

They look sensational.

'The Banner Lady' produce unquestionably , great quality banners.

Will try to post a photo tomorrow for those that aren't able to get out there Sunday.

Hope Jim's footy show appearance inspired you all for Sunday.

We have decided to leave the banner photos and other stuff for everyone to see Sunday.

The Jimmy banner will spend most of the time in the cheersquad, so you may have to make your way around to the Punt Road end if you want to have a decent look at it.

Bring your banner , old Jimmy jersey , paint your hair and face red and blue , whatever you can do to thank Jim and be part of the day.

Cheers our boys as loud as you can when they run out Sunday. Sing the song with what voice you have left when we win. Then celebrate with a pint of Guinness for Jim and the MFC.

Go Dees.

Just to let you know more details.

The cheersquad have made a couple of great banners and messages to Jim.

Outside most gates (not sure about gate 4) there will be placards available. They have various messages on them.

Our Jimmy banner will probably spend most of the day in the cheersquad. So if you want a decent look at it , head around to the Punt Road end goals.

We are hoping Jim will give an interview possibly before the game.

Judging on the banners will happen up to half time, with the winner announced at either 1/2 or 3/4 time. The winner will hopefully get their banner up on the big screens.

Hope to see lots of banners and everone in Red and Blue.

Go Jimmy. Go Dees.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
