James McDonald

Junior's place in the team 2011 and beyond will be decided on form and his body.

Age won't be a determinant.

Until his team mates go past him,we need him in the side.

Where are all those McDonald bashers now? The ones who said Junior wouldn't be best 22 in 2010?

They've definitely been left with egg on their faces

Yeah, four rounds into a 22 week season - how embarassing for them!

By the way, the idea that someone's an X basher because they don't have them in the best 22..? That's hyperbole at its best.

As for whether McDonald plays next year, it's not about how he's going now, it's about how he'll be going in 16 months.

Some were saying McDonald's disposal was not up to scratch and should've been dumped before Robertson, etc, etc...

Just silly comments like that frustrated me.

Fail.

Bruce tackles plenty (perhaps not the hard ones, but he is capable of racking up big numbers)... and Green is now as courageous and hard as they come.

Hmmn, spot on Dappa.

Brad Green bleeds for this club. God there are some silly posts on here sometimes. It is about time loyalty is honored and respected.

Good post, agree.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
