hey, pringle, it was just tongue in cheek...

demonology is a site of (mostly) older people, and 90% of the players come from demonland...

the players that demonology claims are mostly members on here as well...

it would have to be a scratch match, and one side could simply wear the jumper inside out...

hope it does not come to thiat, but if it does, demonology claims the Blessed bloke !!

(and dazzle and bennythejet and...and... ) (insert salivating icon)...

no challenges yet, and it will be february soon...

I will put some feelers out on the other forum sites...

watch this space...

cash-strapped demonland versus cash-rich demonology ??

(we could play for money)... ;)

we should offer to play 18 versus 17, might give talking carlton or saintsational a chance...

no, my posts and telephone calls have stirred up no interest from the other sites' organisers...

I don't think they want to play us...

wonder why ??

if we truly want a february game, I can only suggest a hit-out demonland versus demonology, the gurnseys will be no problem, the venue will be no problem, and the split-up of the teams will be no problem...

I am swamped at work at the moment, so I don't intend to spend any more time on this suggestion, unless you people indicate that it is a welcome idea...

at least the match would be played in good spirit, and if wise decked any demonologist, he would suffer grvieviously with malice aforethought...

I would even volunteer to find a coach for demonology, hopefully a past player who could match wits with redleg and whispering jack... :o

regards,

rollo

just heard from barnesy, the talkingcarlton organiser...

if he can get the numbers, he is looking at 10am on february 28...

can people give their views on the date and time, definitely in, definitely out etc ??

if barnesy can't come up with the numbers by next Sunday, he will withdraw the proposal...

I will keep you posted...

regards,

rollo

Is the pope Catholic?

I'm always good to go Rollo

Just to repeat the earlier post I'd love to call the game if somebody could organise the camera and somewhere to work it from. Other than that I'll put myself down as an assistant coach/waterboy and fill in if the numbers are too low on the day.

Hi Rollo,

I'll register my interest again. So far looks as though the schedule will be free at end of Feb so I'll follow along for updates on here.

Cheers.

thanks, toot...

I think everyone else is away, or registering their silent protest at the new format of the board...

I am unnerved myself at the fact that it is so white...

anyway, things will become clearer after sunday, and if you look at the pies site, we may have opponents we have never played before - dons, tigers, bulldogs...

watch this space, if you can stand the brightness...

at this stage we have 3 teams committed - dons, pies and demonland/demonology - with the blues not looking like getting enough numbers to participate... dogs, tigers and saints are also possibilities...

because we now have a guaranteed venue and (at least one) opponent, I will tonight seek official approval from the leadership group by email/pm and send emails/pms to our regulars and past players...

regards,

rollo

If anybody has got a camera we can use for this can you please let me know?

Suffice to say that while our players will be called by their chosen names, opposition players will be assigned names of random players from their respective teams.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
