bad late 80's film clip

late 80's I am guessing form the players, the hair and the hot synthesizer sounds.

Some great shots like ricky Jackson stuck in a locker, Sean Wight playing bag pipes, O'Dwyer with a ranga kid, Feeby twins in the same jumper (two headed Tasmanians)

This is gold

Sorry if this has been posted before

I have this song on Vinyl at home. My Dad bought it for me when I was a kid. What a stroll down memory lane.

Such a funny song. I'm pretty sure Chris Connelly was involved in singing this song or something. I'll have to pull it out and check again.

hahaha... Go Dees!

Gippy

Isn't it ever? I remember listening to it over and over when I was younger. Surprised I didn't wear out the record.

Classic.

Much much better than a few year back when the club decided to 'update' the club song and turn it into an electro-abomination.

Still makes me cringe...

I remember Jimmy Stynes appearing on Fox FM at the time trying to pump it up and have the song chart in the Top 40.

North Melbourne, from memory, had the "September Shuffle" maybe a a season or two earlier?

FWIW, I think the English 1st division clubs started this, maybe Liverpool? The Chicago Bears had the "Superbowl Shuffle".

Edit: looks like '89? Highlights include the 88 prelim vs Carlton, and the production crew are wearing "DOMINATE IN '88" t-shirts.

THANKYOU so much!

Definitely Chris Connolly singing the song - mentioned it last year to him and wasn't too keen on chatting about it :)

I had this on cassette and was truly shattered when the tape player in the car ate it.

So happy right now

That is awesome.

The club should remake the video for this song for another Christmas video.

Agree Clint. What a great memory.

Update the vision and you have another great video.

Ahh yes...remember that day fondly...was a guest of a mate of dad's.. ( an essendon member..mate,,not dad !! lol ) he was all chesty and vocal til that last quarter.. three of us got up ( [censored]..for reasons that become obvious later ) on a table back at their members bar...and proceded to sing the Melbourne song as much to our surprise as anyones as it really isnt the cleverist thig to do ..lol... yet no one said a thing They were all sheep; all bleating the same disbelief...not sure if it was of us or the mighty Dees winning. Either way was a hoot.. and we didnt stick around to long after that..:D

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.

  • CASEY: Collingwood

It was freezing cold at Mission Whitten Stadium where only the brave came out in the rain to watch a game that turned out to be as miserable as the weather.
The Casey Demons secured their third consecutive victory, earning the four premiership points and credit for defeating a highly regarded Collingwood side, but achieved little else. Apart perhaps from setting the scene for Monday’s big game at the MCG and the Ice Challenge that precedes it.
Neither team showcased significant skill in the bleak and greasy conditions, at a location that was far from either’s home territory. Even the field umpires forgot where they were and experienced a challenging evening, but no further comment is necessary.
