Quote from 774 about Paul Johnson after he got outmarked and gave away a free "He's become a liability out there...."

Tell us something we don't know!

Big call to suggest we're tanking when we're actually in front at quarter time. What does that say about our opposition?

Exactly.

I was talking more about matchups, a lack of any kind of attacking options, all defence, defence, defence, but no scoring.

And just because I say we're tanking doesn't mean it'll work!

There's nothing in this. If the Toigs were up by 5 goals going into the last 10 minutes I STILL wouldn't be confident.

Newton.....This bloke amazes me. He finally gets a chance to prove himself at AFL level and he just looks disinterested, slow and lazy. PICK THE F'ING BALL UP WITH YOUR HANDS....

You would think you would try to show you have work rate and potential to be a key forward to your coach.

Ummm Richmond is the worst team I have ever seen. We are losing because we're tanking, they are barely winning because they are [censored]. We could easily beat them if we tried, but we're not and the matchups are a joke.

Possibly the most depressing game I've been to, mainly because we are a big chance of winning despite having our D grade side out there.

I know most here are pro tanking but the way this season is going is testing my loyalty.

If you teach the defenders to go up three at a time can you then unteach that?

I am ashamed & embarrassed. This tanking thing might just misfire.

On SEN people are texting in saying they're leaving because it's so bad.

I worry about our next 2 weeks though. Even if we're lucky enough to stay on 12 points, having Sylvia come back in against Freo AND NM will cause us issues.

This is the Scully cup for us, in a big way.

it is an absolute indictment that we have to put martin the ruck ahead of him to give spencer a rest.

I'm having to rely solely on the live statistics for any information.

Valenti looks to be getting a fair bit of the ball, how is he going?

getting some of it, but kicking and decision making is mediocre to say the best. has a crack unlike some others

this bloke infuriates me. we are generally a crap side so the odd crap kick or crap handball im used to but his efforts are putrid. the sooner we rid ourselves of him the better

Dan did you know you can watch game live on bigpond/afl.com if you're in US, Canada or Europe.

This game is a joke. A VFL team would be beating either team by 6 goals

Not if you're on a MAC BBP... The AFL still in the dark ages.

McDonald playing a great game so far.

If we win this, it won't be Bailey and the coaching staffs fault, they are doing everything within their power to lose it. Richmond are truly awful, we at least have an excuse.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if the tiges lose every game, including this one, they are on 18 points, ie LESS THAN 20. That would give them an extra pick at the end of the first draft round? No?

Myabe they are tanking too?

I can't watch this. This is the most blatant tank in the history of tanking. Carlton look like amateurs compared to us. Surely there will be ramifications during the week. I feel for Richmond fans.

I think it's actually 16.5 points. Richmond's draw with North has them over.

petterd and grimes are gonna be neighbours in the dressing room for a long time. they will be longtime servants of the MFC.

watching this is hell. wanting to lose goes against every instinct

jones gets us within 2.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
