Please!!!

It is so frustrating. I thought they would have fixed this by now. We hardly get a chance to win and when we finally do, you can't even here the song in the speakers...

who is the best person for me to email about this.

I agree, it was so darn quiet yesterday!

It may fall on deaf ears mate.

The same needs to be said about the siren actually. I cant tell you how many times I have wondered why the have stopped running, only to realise the siren has gone. Iam sure this has happen only after the last 2 years. Unless, i am actually going deaf.

Hmmm where were you sitting? I was right on the wing on the first level in the Southern Stand, could hear it fine. No problems at all.

Posted

I was at Punt Road end of Southern Stand in the Redlegs area, it was barely audible from there...

The sound was very low. It was allright at the end but I especially noticed it when they were running out, I could barely hear it then. I think it is all widely disputed throughout the ground, I don't think it's heard more in different sections.

Please!!!

Agree.

Also, what's the deal with the trumpet player? Firstly, I'm not a fan of it. And secondly, you can't hear him anyway, at least I haven't been able to pretty much every time he's performed this year. I see him on the scoreboard but can only faintly hear it above the murmuring of the crowd.

was he there yesterday? I didn't notice him at all, unless he was on while I was still in the Redlegs room.

also, did anyone hear the bagpipe player down towards the Punt Road oval? I'd parked at the Richmond Social Club, realised when I got to my car that I'd left my jacket in the Redlegs area, walked all the way back again, stayed for the raffle and then walked back to my car. All this would have taken over half an hour, and the entire time that bagpipe player was still going...

Yeah, I walked past her on my way to the train. She went ok. Plenty of people were tossing gold coins her way, so I think she did ok.

I would prefer to hear bagpipes before the game than a trumpet.

What I'd actually prefer though would be an electric guitar ripping the club song Hendrix style. But I don't think that'll be happening somehow.

What I would also like, and I think we should do this, is in that 10 minutes of time between when the teams run onto the field and the game actually starting, we should play a song, the same song at the same time for each of our home games, like Liverpool do with 'You'll never walk alone.' I'm not sure what song it should be, probably something Australian, it could be modern, it could be some rock classic from decades ago, I don't know. But it could become like our 'second' club song. Anyway, just a thought.

Lyrics wise, does anyone else think the song "How far We've Come" by Matchbox Twenty is an odd choice of song to play at the ground? Singing about the end of the world tends to pessimistic thinking in my books.....

just sing without the music...we certainly did.

maybe email the club or MCC

I can't stand the bag-pipes. Earlier in the season, she was absolutely raping our song. Since then she has improved, but still doesn't sound good IMO. I'd much prefer the trumpeter to be honest.

Each to their own i suppose.

Yeah, I still struggle to compehend that a set of bagpipes are considered to be a musical instrument. Having said that, she does a pretty good job; the little red horns that she wears go well too.

I'm impressed by her stamina! she's able to play for ages without seemingly taking a break!

The thing that annoys me is, at least in the MCC Members, you can hear the crap they play from their "Worst Pop/Rock of the 80s" album during the pre-match, but as soon as the theme songs are played someone fiddles with the volume. Credit where credit is due however, when we won on Saturday it was blaring out of the speakers behind us. No better feeling than pumping it out with 200-odd other MFC/MCC members/supporters. Not a feral in sight ;)

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. Some veteran Demonland Trackwatchers ventured down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you the following observations from another Preseason Training Session. WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
