Anyone see this article in the Hun today -- http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,2...352-661,00.html

I just hope he donates a chunk to the club, even if its "not exactly his money".

Just thought if he's that much of a diehard supporter he might read this site and I thought I'd apply some pressure.

Its something I've thought about before and decided i'd have to make a sizeable donation if put in this position, but at the same time I often wonder if I'd actually go through with it.

I think I would.

a) i'm sure he sounds exactly like the type of person who would donate money away

and

B) he was bankrupt, which meant he had nothing, its not like he already had a couple of houses and this was icing.

FWIW i would donate some money, but probably not if i won 400K. thats not even enough to buy a house these days...

A few years ago I wrote an article on Demonland (when it was in Aimoo) about my big win at Keno at Wrest Point in the early 80's. I won $1,703.00 for an investment of $3.00 by picking 7 out of 8 numbers in one of my games. I used the numbers of eight Demons who played well the previous week (typically missing out on #25 Mark Jackson whose number didn't come up thereby costing me another 11 grand).

I reckon this bloke read my article and has been using my system. I'm going to sue him for the lot!

you better get a no win , no fee lawyer

The court ruled that the ticket belonged to the new wife - so it wasn't his money to give away anyway. I hope she invests it wisely - and doesn't let him get his hands on it as he doesn't have a great track record with money!

Technically the money belongs to his new wife, so that by law the ex wife cannot touch it.

Doesn't mean he has no control over her or the money.

I'd be very surprised if that was the case.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
