Why the Dockers deserve to be at the bottom ...

Featured Replies

Fremantle & Port Adelaide should never have been given a license to join the AFL. It is a disgrace. Both will become "Basket Cases" within 10 years particularly Port.

From a supporter of Club that is a basket case.

It is a beat up based on the unbelievably stupid comments from Steve Malaxos. How he got put in front of a microphone I dont know.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of dim-witted individuals (mainly Collingwood, Richmond or any other supporters who are in a cheer squad) who believe that the whole world revolves around the AFL and use the Herald Sun to get their "news".

The Herald Sun is just giving the people what they want.

Excuse Me RR The Melbourne Football Club was in a bad way 12 Months ago but i think we can wave goodbye to those days. Not out of the woods yes but there is a load of good signs.

Port Adelaide have no supporters Full stop. Fremantle won't in a few years. I mean that song is enough to close them down!!

It's not a non-issue Y_M, it's massive news.

Two twenty year olds dressed up in white sheets and white masks and knocked on their friends' doors.

Massive

Ha, ha my thoughts exactly. The moral police are at it again.

If anything, the 22 Freo players who played on Saturday night should have been charged for falsely impersonating an AFL footballer.

You easily conned WYL. MFC are still in the black forest.

Have a look at Freo and work why the AFL really rate Cameron Schwab. He has made that Club financially strong with a solid supporter and sponsor base in a two horse town. He is at early days at MFC and there is a long long way to go for MFC. No basis for bragging rights there. But Freo footy dept and theme song are deplorable.

I know where we are RR I am not Bragging, we have a long way to go & it will take awhile but i Truly believe we are going to head in one direction, up. By that i mean Business each year & up the ladder when we can. Schwabb is no slouch i know. Jim Stynes is the networking Front man & a Player who achieved beyond his means- ie when he talks People listen. Freo are ok off field at the moment but if their Footy Dept does not improve People & Business will drop off. They have no History.

We Do.

lol . . .

When young guys get together and touch base with alcohol they tend to do some silly things.

Have to say this is "silly" but it's harmless to say the least

What happens if we finish with 4 wins but freo is last?

what pics do we get then?

Not the best one to ask. However to my knowledge, we would still get first crack at the draft, but wouldnt get the priority pick (??) Or maybe I have that the other way round.

Perhaps someone else could answer?

As an example. if Freo wins 2 games, and we win 4, will the draft order be -

1. Freo

2. Melbourne

3. Melbourne

Anyone?

We'd get our PP before Round One, so it'd be Melb Freo Melb

but if their Footy Dept does not improve People & Business will drop off. They have no History.

...like they have done at MFC. Fat lot of good history is! The last 45 years have been forgettable and at times embarrassing.

If we have 16.5 pts or less at the end of the home and away we will get a PP. Whether it is draft pick no 1 will depend upon the 2009 outcome of WCE who won only 4 games last year. They have won 2 to date. If they win only 2 more and the MFC win 4 or less games then the access to PPs will depend on ladder position of WCE and MFC.

If the bottom three positions on the ladder were

14. WCE 4 wins

15. MFC 4 wins

16. Freo 3 wins

then the draft would be....

Pick 1 - PP - MFC

Pick 2 - PP - WCE

Pick 3 - Freo

Pick 4 - MFC

Pick 5 - WCE

Freo would get a 2nd round PP at pick 19.

Poor Pavlich.

I hope that CS, CC and DB have all been in contact with the great man to make sure that he is ok and if he needs any support from the MFC he just needs to call. If we were to finishing with a priority pick this year I would have no issues giving up our 2nd pick for the PAV. All of a sudden our "disfunctional" forwardline would be amazing. I really think we could be in with a shot on a player like pav this year, unless QC17 beat us to it. It would be interesting if anyone in the media is aware of his relationship with harvey vs CC+CS?

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

  • POSTGAME: Richmond

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
