According to Footywire, Freo's team average age was about 2 years over where it should have been because they listed one of the players as being born on Jan 1 1900.

Just another one to add to their great recruiting history

If we could just get rid of Sam Blease we would have a very young team; the MFC site has him as being born in 1891. He is clearly skewing the average age of our list!

Well we already do have the youngest list :)

Sydney 24.77

Geelong 24.15

Richmond 23.92

St Kilda 23.81

Fremantle 23.68

Western Bulldog 23.68

Adelaide 23.39

Port Power 23.36

North Melbourne 23.34

Collingwood 23.32

Essendon 23.14

Carlton 23.13

West Coast 23.05

Hawthorn 23.05

Brisbane 22.87

Melbourne 22.78

And we will be even younger next year... You would expect another 4 18 year old draftees next year.

But who are the 4 that will go off our list? My guess:

McDonald (ret.)

Robertson (ret.)

Bell

McNamara / Cheney

Including the 118 year old Blease?

i recon at least a couple of rookies also. possibly zomer/hughes?

I thought he was a half forward flank?

Hence the reason you should stay on the Bombers boards

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
