Good luck to the DeeLand crew for tomorrow. Bury those buggers.

Looking forward to some photos or video action highlights from the game.

err, thanks, mate...

but could you give us a bio-mechanical explanation ??

Sorry, I don't really get your reply (unless you're talking about my long-windedness?).

Anyway, I meant that the Carlton mob would be throwing punches at each other.

Good luck!

Rollo, went to the physio today, and I'm a definite non-starter. Sorry for no reply to your last email, but I've been working just about every waking minute of the last week and a bit. I'll still be there to help out, and I can bring a camera to photograph any classic moments. My brother Dooky is doubtful. I've been bugging him, but because his better half comes back from overseas tonight or tomorrow morning, he may be tied to his bed by the old jatz crackers :P .

And I'll also bring some medical supplies if needed.

hey, mfc, I've missed your posts this time...

hey, pringle, thanks for the camera, but I don't know if you have realised that redleg has promoted you to assistant coach...

can't beat dooky's excuse, but ucanchoose comes bloody close...

26 confirmed players is 4 short of what the opposition has, so we are still looking for extra numbers...

Apparently O'hAilpin's turning out for "Talking Carlton". (Only place he can get a game!).

Wear boxes, boys!

the other side are (potentially) playing an EX-CARLTON player...

and we got that news weeks ago...

they are playing their cards close to their chests, so I am intrigued as to the identity of this guy...

all will be revealed in time...

watch this space...

Hey, people…

Reminder before I head off to melbourne...

Gosch’s paddock…

Melway map reference 2G E10...

TRAIN... to richmond station, walk south down punt road (city side). Walk past the collingwood training ground. If you come to boulton parade, you have gone too far...

CAR... free parking may be available at the punt road oval. If not, try the richmond side streets south and east of swan street, also a commercial car park in swan street...

WEATHER... extended forecast says showers clearing, 77% humidity, and 25 degrees...

people, it's melbourne, so bring umbrellas as well as spare jumpers and footy boots (ground is in good condition and will be wet) !!

the talkingcarlton guys have the personnel to provide a real contest and a tough game...

we really should not have won last time, our team looks slightly better than our team last time on paper, but they have some regulars back who we have not seen, especially KPPs in defence…

people, it's melbourne so bring water AND suncreen !!!

helpers... we have never had enough additional water, so don't slack off on your commitments...

players, we have as yet only two helpers committed to bringing extra water, so bring your own…

I have some additional guernseys, but bring additional jumpers if you have them for players without...

AFTER MATCH DRINKS... crickerters arms hotel, punt road...follow the crowd...

if anyone has last-minute info for the coaches (can't make it, can make it with extra players etc, I invite you to ring me on my mobile on the day 0408 698 328...

see you sunday, february 8 at 1pm (doggo, this means you !!) or thereabouts...

peter connor (aka rollo)

Still on no matter what the weather ?

Rollo, sorry but jako cant make it anymore, family reasons. Scott and I will still be there.

I have to make a HUGE apology for not turning up today... I something on this morning which went FAR longer than expected, and I lost my phone last night so wasn't able to contact anyone to let them know.

Sorry guys - hope everything went OK.

Demonland/Demonology has retained the Earl Spalding Trophy with a comfortable victory over Talking Carlton. The game was played in great spirit with some fantastic passages of play from the boys in the red and the blue.

The win makes it four wins on the trot for the mighty Dees, thanks mainly to Rollo's organisational skills and a good all round performance from the boys. It was a great feeling to sing the Grand Old Flag after the game and there's more reports and photos to come later but I must add that the joy was overshadowed when we got in the car after the game and heard the tragic news from the bushfire areas.

short match report...

dees 18.17. 125 def. blues 7.7. 49...

goals: scotty(4), heater(3), dazzledavey36(3), doggo(2), wise(2), bennythejet, tassie dee, nathan (tassie dee's mate), funky41...

best: doggo, dazzledavey36, bennythejet, scotty, heater, charlesy, wise, tassie dee, demon tingles, 45hotgod, swooper, mclean4brownlow...(apologies for any others who should be named)...

vin cattogio award (for best dees player) shared between doggo and dazzledavey36...

headlines:

- matthew, tassie's mate, was deservedly sent off for bad-mouthing the umpy (he did apologise)...

- dazzledavey36's long-awaited first game for us, hope it's not his last...

- the opposition had some quality players, but they were overwhelmed by our classy midfield and relentless running game...

- whispering jack and pringle did a great job with the coaching/rotating the bench role...

- thanks to jo, our only ever female player, who ran the boundary for us...

- many thanks to dee knees, who came through with bulk extra water again...

- last game, we gained funky41's group and this time we saw tassie dee's group join our list, making us a hard team to beat...

- tassie dee's group hail from demonology, giving the demonology site a slight hold on the naming rights to these inter-forum games...

congratulations and thanks to all players and helpers...

Hi all. Great win again by the mighty dees. I can't believe how good we actually are every time we take the field. There seems to be an over-abundance of really talented footballers who post both here and on demonology. Each game we have a few new players in the team, and they all just pick up from where the absentees left off. Some who have never been to watch these games might mistakenly believe the standard is not that great as these are only 'scratch matches'. But I can assure you that is NOT the case. In fact, I dare say our best team would give some amateur clubs in the VAFA a real contest (well, maybe D grade and below). Some brilliant passages of footy worthy of any standard of footy.

I have downloaded the photos and video of the team song onto this picasa web album. If it is better for people to view them directly on this thread page, then someone with the computer smarts can paste them in.

Demonland vs Talking Carlton Photos

18 goals 17 behinds - count four of those behinds for me - though I still reckon a couple of those weren't touched, haha.

Great game by all of our guys and thanks again to Rollo Jack and Pringle for all their work.

Looking forward to the next game at the end of the year

Thanks to all involved, you guys do a great job!

Good win boys

(Has anyone seen my Wheels clash jumper? it needs to be returned to the mantle!)

BennytheJet borrowed it didn't he?

Damn him! If only he wasn't massive, I could challenge him to physical combat!

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
