cos he said, green, dunn, bartram, bell and sylvia were all up for trade

bate isnt a CHF.

and garland isnt a FF. he maybe capable of playing forward, but i cant see him becoming a first choice KPF. maybe a third floating tall, maybe a winger. but he'll need to put on a lot of weight to be a FF

I agree with that assumption Colin is a very athlectic player as shown by the job he did on Lance Franklin we need to recruit a forward that can lead us for a number of years because our problem is scoring goals.

definitly. we're fine in defence, need a bit more pace in midfield. need a gun key foward and a ruckman, and we're set

That is exactly right. However i don't think our midfield is that slow. get a full pre season into some players for a change and get them fit will make a world of difference. Buckley is as quick as they come but he needs to put on some muscle and Jones looks slow but he is actually quite fast.

I think our problem lately has been that we have too many midfielders on our list but they keep getting injured. But a ruckman and a key forward are a must. One option could be getting Nicknat at pick one or even Vickery and getting Nathan Grima from the Kangaroos in a trade or psd as he was on a rookie list for one year and did his knee five weeks into pre season.

I know Nathan aswell and he is a solidly built forward or Back who last year was pivotal in Central Districts grand final win in the SANFL, we can get him for nothing in the PSD and he is only 24.

1. We are not getting Vickery, stop putting it in every bloody thread, we get it, you like him.

2. You have assembled a very very ordinary starting 22.

Miller, Sylvia, Jones, Wona and Green are best 22 and probably Valenti as well.

3. There is no way in this world we will get another top 5 pick.

4. Don't try and make Garland a forward, just because he can sort of play there doesn't mean he is the answer, for 10 years we were crying out for a backline, now we have Rivers, Warnock, Martin and Garland, who is probably the best out of all of them right now. He is confident and is working on a future partnership with Warnock. Why mess with it...?

Those are my points, I hope this clears up confusion so we can avoid these silly things being posted in the future.

why does chris johnson never get in anyones team?

He is in Dee tention's team...

I named Bate at CHF because he is touted as a KPF. So I think it is time for him too step up too the mantle from Miller as Jamar did with White this year. Put some pressure on the kid to learn the position! miller is too inconsistent for me.

Why cant Garland be tried at FF? Even if we are plugging that gap for now! Newton needs time in the reserves. I agree with your other position options for Garland. I dont agree he will have to put on weight to be a FF though. By the way, he would be a leading forward. Not a bomb it in long and hope forward. That can be for Robbo to hang his trademark speccy. He would be more of a Mark Williams type. Lynden Dunn could be another option to try at FF. Has the size and speed off the mark! And I believe we have Garland covered in the backline if it lines up as named. If not, he can be an Adam Hunter swing man.

This is how i recon the team should be, or there abouts.

FB Frawley Garland Warnock INT: P.Johnson Maric C.J Petterd

CHB Martin Recruit Rivers

C Buckley Mclean Morton

CHF Bate Miller Grimes

FF Davey J.Watts Sylvia

R Recruit Jones Moloney

^^^^ btw ^^^^^ thats the future team and i forgot wona :S

The backline has no running defenders! All big fella's. I hope the midfielder's would be helping out.

yeh ur ryt thats a fair call

i spose throw in cj and buckley and bartram down bak myt help.

Looking through those teams shows just how far we have to go . A lot would not even be on the Geelong or Hawthorn Lists . After trade week we should cut the deadwood to make use of the maximum number of draft picks available . Depending on trades we start with 6 ( I think ) , plus the PSD .Better to take the chance with new kids than persevere with proven flops !!!

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
