I actually reckon that lineup may win us a game or 2 next year. We look so much more competetive with McLean and Davey.

Dunn, Moloney, Rivers and Martin could easily come up plus Petterd, Maric and Grimes are wating in the wings.

Injury will determine how many games we win next year.

If only you didn't mean that literally BBP.

Martin and Moloney would probably get a game before Bartram at the moment I'd think. Martin reads the play so well and seems to get to every contest. While in the middle, Moloney was finding some real touch I thought before his injury.

45 hotgood. agree there, moloney and martin were very good when they were in the side

bartram wouldn'tbe in there, and davey would swap with bate

Agree in that Bartram shouldn't be there. His skills generally were un-AFL like at times this year.

Although we need a negator or 2 in the side.

Bartram isn't best 22 IMO either but he played 21 games this year, hence his selection in the "Team of '08".

Obviously Bartram's skill level was poor at times this year.

He played 21 games, his disposal effiency was suprisingly 77%. Higher than Cale Morton, Brock McLean, Paul Wheatley & even Brad Green. Clint showed a good engine when assigned as a run-with player.

Good enough to be named back pocket in our team of 08.

Robbo at Full Forward? Goes to show we had a very difficult year as a club based on his form earlier this year. Missed half a season.

Exactly.

There was really no other option. Did kick a few whilst he was playing though.

He came 10th in our disposal count. I admit though, Clint didnt get huge amounts of the ball this season.

Purely on a games played basis this is how our team lines up for 2008, (games played for year in brackets)

B Bell (18) Warnock (17) Bartram (21)

H-B Green (20) Garland (17) Wheatley (19)

C Morton (19) Jones (21) Dunn (16)

H-F Davey (15) Miller (19) Bate (15)

F Wona (18) Sylvia (18) P.Johnson (16)

R Jamar (14) Bruce (22) McDonald 19)

I White (14) McLean (14) Buckley (14) Whelan (12)

E Frawley (11) Robbo (10) C.Johnson (10)

Compare this to the 2007 again purely on games played

Backs Ward(18) Carroll(21) P.Johnson(16)

H-Backs Bell(17) Miller(16) Brown(19)

Centres Johnstone(15) Jones(21) Green(18)

H-ForwardsDavey(18) Bate(19) Bruce(16)

Forwards Robbo(15) Neitz(15) Sylvia(16)

Rucks White(22) J.Mac(21) Godfrey(17)

InterchangeWheatley(14) McLean(14) Dunn(12) Newton (10)

EmergenciesBizzell(10) Holland(10) Moloney(10) Jamar (10)

Changes from the 2007 (23 players) to the 2008 (22 players)

Out Neitz, Ward, Carroll, Brown, Johnstone, Godfrey, Bizzell, Holland, Moloney, Newton

In Warnock, Bartram, Garland, Morton, Wona, Buckley, Whelan, Frawley, CJohnson

Just highlighting the obvious push towards youth I suppose. 9 changes.

It also highlights the 10 or so players that perhaps Bailey sees as the nucleus of the team going forward. Newton the only youthful player to go backwards from 2007. Moloney too although injured.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. TRAINING: Wednesday 13th November 2024

A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers braved the rain and headed down to Gosch's paddock to bring you their observations from the second day of Preseason training for the 1st to 4th Year players. DITCHA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I attended some of the training today. Richo spoke to me and said not to believe what is in the media, as we will good this year. Jefferson and Kentfield looked big and strong.  Petty was doing all the training. Adams looked like he was in rehab.  KE

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025.
