Alot of talk of Petterd and his ability. He hasn't played that much. Can someone fill me in on his ability and what the excitement is about.

You will never ever question his courage in putting his body on the line for the team, i can tell you that much.

If you can get a copy of his debut game against the Swans, that should get you excited.

WOW, we have plenty of reasons to think that the dees will be a real danger in a few years time. I cant recall having so much young talent at any one given time!

I would hate to be over 30 at the MFC, the exit sign would be nice and bright for you!

What i would hope would be happening in the reserves is those wanting to improve their chances of being selected in the senior's are doing the TEAM things and not playing for themselves with frivilous statistics or wonder mark and goal attemps

Melbourne has a long way to go so dont be fooled by last weeks win

Sure its was great but its realistically the first time we played competitive 4 quarter football for the whole season

I dont care if we win or lose compared to being competitive consistantly

This should be our priority for the remainder of this season

We need to lose the easy beat tag

grimes' form no surprise..

Steal of the draft, was a top 5 b4 injuries!

So excited bout this kid, a real ball magnet, strong build, quick, and has great skills and decision making qualities!

Just cant wait till he pulls on the Melbourne Jumper, will jump straight in and play like hes been there 4 years!

Just might get a game by round 18 I hope..

Has alot of catching up 2 do though!

Watch this space.. he could be anything!

Maric, also looks great, what a kick he ahs on him, Bailey will really help this kid adapt his game! Even Mcnamara looks encouraging! youngest player in the draft!

Last years draft will make us I think, i remember the day, I couldnt beleive the amount of talent we picked up., Could really be a huge day for us!!

All the experts also rated our picks the best overall in the draft, which means nothing, but its looking great so far!

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
