Didn't see any of our innings but the next 7 games for the team could be painful ... especially if we lose another one shortly

As it stands, we might have to win all 7 of our group games just to make the SF's!  An extremely tall order to say the least

They have a stacked team. Just when you think you have confidence that they should do well they underperform badly. Been mediocre for a long time now unfortunately.

I wish they would advertise bit more for women's cricket, just flicked it on by chance, didn't even know we had WI over here... killing it... as usual. Unfortunately pretty poor crowd.

Kuldeep is some sort of bowler for India.  More than a handful for Pakistan.  Rarely bowls a bad ball and has a very good googly

And now we're staring down the barrel at another loss

Batting first Sri Lanka 1-156 off 26 overs

There’s a pulse. Now 3/166 off 28.
They wasted a review on the first ball of the match. The bowling has been wayward and they’ve looked flat. Starc inconsistent, Zampa hasn’t been getting his line right. Struggling the Aussies.

If it wasn’t for Warner’s outfield catching the Aussies would be in a world of pain.

The reverse mozz in operation

Lankans now 4-166

Cummins 2 wickets

Zampa 2 wickets

Better signs and the run rate has slowed a little now.

Wicket Maiden. Unbelievable. Didn’t see that one coming.

Starc comes on …. Wide. FMD. All over the place Starc. Needs to reset his radar.

A win is a win but still not impressed. Went to bed when Marsh got run out. Good to see Zampa with wickets which might bring some confidence.

England losing to Afghanistan might mean that whoever loses our match against England could be out of the tournament ... as it stands both us and England could miss the SF's anyway

Also of note - no West Indies!  How the once mighty have fallen

No West Indies because they got knocked out by the mighty DUTCH who today beat South Africa by 38 runs, doing everyone else in the tournament a massive favour!!!!

The Dutch knocking off South Africa opens the door.
New Zealand always seem to start off tournaments on a flyer. Only to wilt near the death (end).
Australia meet Pakistan 🇵🇰 tomorrow night and that should be a massive match. Lose and Australia will be on the ropes. Win and they’re very much alive.

Must win #2 tonight

Another big factor is we don't need a washed out match (only the 2 SF's & the Final have a reserve day)

Lunch against the Pakis and 367 is the score. Warner and Marsh were unbelievable but the rest of the batting sucked. Small ground so 367 is more gettable than a lot of places. Still it is a biggish type score so they will have to bat real well to get it.

Maxwell 100 off 40 balls - incredible!  Sets a new record ... power and clean hitting & reverse pull shots the highlights

The Dutch were plucky and they fielded exceptionally well but they couldn't contain Warner & Maxie

Assuming the Aussies go on to win the match, we should be able to set up a buffer (run rate & W/L record) in order to qualify for a SF berth

England LOL

🤭

What a pleasure it was to watch Head back in the side. Power hitting personified along with Warner.

What a game against NZ! One of the best ODIs I've ever seen. How about the Himalayas in the background for viewing? Aussies on a roll.

Shame about Maxi though. He’s been ruled out vs England and possibly also vs Afghanistan with concussion protocols. He was injured when he fell from a moving golf cart. But he’ll be good to go for the remainder of the tournament.

Oh gosh, missed that news! Hope he's okay, been a real handy x factor for us! Hope we smash the poms!

I love Maxi… he’s my fave player, by far. They said he’ll be fine, no long term effects, so that’s great. We need him in top form as he has been. As for the Poms, reigning champions, yet they’re an absolute hot mess right now. A jolly good thumping is in order! A golden duck for Jonny Bairstow… run out, of course. 😁

There's something about that name Maxi, hey? We got 2 rippers!

Great it's not long term. Hope he comes back in firing!

Haha, Bairstow! Maybe even a Mankad run out is in order just to spice things up a bit 😁

I'll take it one step further... Mankad run out Bairstow for a diamond duck! 🤣😂

Omg that would be glorious!!!

I wouldn’t care who went on to win the Cup, just seeing that would be enough for me. 😂

Speaking of who’ll win the championship, I reckon we’re the only ones who’ll come close to troubling India. Last night I watched India’s innings, absolutely scintillating. I fell asleep during the innings break but woke up not long after and thought I’d watch the second half of SL’s innings. But there was no second half. All out for 55 in the 20th over. Insane! Shami took 5 for 18 in 5 overs! And he’s not 100% fit!!!!

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
