Sorry to say this, but it's something that's been irking me and will probably not be very popular.

But i am sick of people having a go at her. Especially on this rubbish Footy Classified show, but she is one journo who calls it as she sees it, isn't afraid to cop (often unwarranted) abuse for more often than not being pretty much on the mark.

They constantly stick it to her, she is always willing to state why she runs articles that she runs (as opposed to many other journos) and whilst you won't like a lot of what she writes, it's usually pretty right.

Even if some of it is basic, i still like that she offers insight into what she says.

A very popular one to bag, but i reckon she's far ahead of many other journos.

Agree totally - you don't have to agree with everything she says - but the hysteria which seems to follow every comment is ridiculous - time to grow up

"Caro" is pathetic.

I speak the truth.

I think Caro is fantastic. I wish she had a role at our club because I think she has great judgement, really smart, brutally honest and rolls with the puches. And I think she cops a lot because she's female. She cops al ot of sexist taunts too.I think Caro is fantastic. How in the world is this the truth? You've got to back it up if you'll claim something like that.

By the way i'm glad i wasn't nuts and that other people respect the work she does in AFL

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I'm watching Footy Classified right now and - as usual - Demon Gazza and "Who Ate All the Pies" Crag Huchison are laying into Caroline Wilson and I've begun to realize something strange. Carro is my hero.

Yep, in the footy world, where intelligent people are about as rare as a drug-free West Coast Eagles player, Mrs. Wilson is a shining light. A woman in a male-dominated, yobbo business, Carro comes under fire for almost everything she does or stands for, yet more often than not comes out the other end of an hour of [censored]-slinging smelling like a rose. A true credit to her gender, her profession, the game, and herself.

I love you Caroline Wilson. There, I said it.

I don't always agree with her but I respect her enormously for never backing down despite being constantly belittled by her male colleagues, who are mostly idiots.

Wow. I expected to be absolutely shouted down. Well there you go.

Completely agree, Chook and Jaded, (obviously). It drives me bonkers. That playboy Ricky Nixon just smuggly claiming he might have another argument with Caro, honestly, over what? Because you're a man?

Everything they say to her is so belittling, always insinuating that she's crap and wrong, yet never claim what she actually does wrong.

Obviously you can never fully agree with such an opinionated person as Caro, but the way she is treated is a disgrace, and too many people subsribe to the "Caro is a crap journalist and should be hated" theory because of it.

I've had many arguments with people who claim she's horrid, but can't substantiate it with any material

Hutchy is suffering from LMS, otherwise known as Little Man Syndrome. That probably explains why he spends his past time ramaging through rubbish bins and stalking successful people

Yep. Well done Chook. Everyone's entitled to their opinion. I happen to disagree with you, but yeah, well done all the same...

Thanks, Dappa. By the way, how [censored] off did Glenn Archer look at at that guy Nixon? I reckon if he wasn't on TV, he would've absolutely slugged him one.

She's one of the few intelligent football writers and because of this she attracts the ire of her less intelligent male peers. Hutchinson being an absolute prime example. He knows she holds more kudos as a journalist because whilst he's sniffing around the gutters of "celebrity footballers" she's writing articles that provoke thought and interest in the football world.

Interestingly on SEN this morning Hutchy intimated that the spat between Ricky Nixon, surely one of the lowest of low of the player-managers, and Glenn Archer, continued after they threw to an ad break. His responses to Archer were childish to say the least from what was a reasonable point from Archer.

All Ricky could come back with, was "That's just bad luck, Glenn, that's just bad luck" in reference to commenting on other player-managers players.

Very childish.

Especially on this rubbish Footy Classified show, but she ........

Incorrect. It's not rubbish.

It is an informative discussion on footy's hot topics. "There is no room for the faint hearted."

Obviously there is no room for you...

Totally agree. In fact, I think it's better than On the Couch or, for that matter, any other footy show that actually talks about football.

Certainly better than that panel with Mark Robinson and Co. on Ch 7

I find the somewhat contrived nature of the conflict between the members of the show quite boring, and have barely watched it.

I don't think Archer's a right fit for that type of show, though.

Not sure whether he's really suited to any type of footy show, actually.

I reckon Hutchy has just recently chalked up 300!

Thats hiding in 300 garbage bins trying to gain an exclusive!

Archer looked out-of-sorts last night, I think they need another journalist to take his spot...........or a former coach. Ie Chris Connolly.

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence.
