  1. Well given the departures of Majak Daw and soon to be Sam Weideman, many of us are rightfully thinking about what ruck depth the club will have after Gawn and Grundy. With injury doubts over how much footy Tom McDonald and Ben Brown will play next year, let alone Gawn and Grundy who have their own injury issues, the club needs another ruck ready to go should the opportunity arise, which it may well. With the ruck duo of Gawn and Grundy kicking off next season, the club also has the issue of identifying what player would want to come to the club to be 3rd in line behind the two dominant rucks of the last 7 years??? The answer is probably no one, which is why either with our final national draft pick or in the Rookie draft is where we'll have to land this player IMO. One such player who has been mentioned a couple of times on here is Harry Boyd from Norwood in the SANFL. 198cm, 108kg, 24 years of age who can also play key position at either end and was named ruck in the SANFL team of the year after playing most of his previous football in Victoria. I believe Jade Rawlings has been his coach the last few years, so we should be able to get some good intel. Curious as to others thoughts? https://sanfl.com.au/league/clubs/norwood/1000958/?league=sanfl&season=2022
  2. Cold and wet so probs not many turning up. I’m a bona fide winter person so I’m loving this weather ☔️ I’m meeting up with seven (SEVEN) teenage girls aka my protégés. I’m building my own girls’ footy team 😁so I can’t guarantee a proper report. LOL like I usually do 😂 Vids coming shortly. 👍🏽
  3. Is it time to play Mitch King? Yes he isnt ready but arent we diminishing other players and positions covering the ruck role? Would it hasten or slow Kings development? Would it stabilise our back six if tmac just played back? Could watts offer more if not a ruck reserve? Pedersen fwd offering a relief ruck role?
  4. So with the assumption that Pedersen will be our number one ruck this weekend, what do Demonlanders think would be a pass mark for our latest stoppage fodder? Personally, if he can split the hit-outs 30/70, take at least half-a-dozen marks and stop their ruckman scoring any goals, I'd say he's done enough.
  5. I've mentioned him a few times already, so thought I'd give him his own thread seeing as I'm on a role. Mature age ruckman/forward has been around the WAFL scene with Claremont for a few years now (must have played with Hogan) and has had a breakout year this year. http://www.wafl.com.au/players/view/4672 Not bad numbers for a just turned 21 year old big man. Approx 2 goals, 6 marks, 12 possessions, 13 hit outs and 2 tackles a game. Fits the bill of what we need. I'd be willing to take him late in the national draft with our 4th round pick to make sure we get him rather then risk him being there in the rookie draft. He has Callum Sinclair written all over him from a few years back. Cameron could potentially play from Round 1 and go along way to fixing our structure issues with the forward/2nd ruck role. Brief description on him below re: his invite to the combine this year. Anyone seen much of him at WAFL level? Darcy CameronClaremont204cm/104kg18/7/95Cameron was overlooked at the 2013 NAB AFL Draft with a query on his pace and his consistency in competing. But he's improved those aspects of his game and presents as a mature-age tall who is able to play in the ruck and in attack. 6. Apologize if there is already a thread for this, but couldn't see it. Anyone else notice the article on the AFL website stating despite him being contract, Freo and trying to lure Jake the snake? Given he's contracted and our lack of ruck depth i can't see it happening, but if the offer were to good to refuse i guess we'd have to consider it. Article is big men set for big moves. Sorry i couldn't get a link working.
  7. Max Gawn is on 807 hitouts with 3 games to go. A big day out against a rusty Lobbe today... Could the Big Guy get to 1000 hitouts this season? It would be a very special achievement.
  8. I would be keen to get the thoughts of Landers over what we have invested in. The last questions surrounds that investment as I have my concerns over those who say that Clark is a back-up ruck/forward - I don't think that position requires such a massive investment.
