  1. The Charles goal was in 1994. You did beat WCE in 1993 though, the game where Allen Jakovich kissed his brother Glen after slotting the sealer. And yep, beat us in 1993, but handed Sydney their first win for the year.
  2. Melbourne have seemed to have had some mercurial forwards in my lifetime, more than most teams. Imagine a forward line of Jakovich, Farmer, Aaron Davey, Sean Charles & Jurrah. You'd pay 4 times the admission price to watch it every week.
  3. Well, there could be worse things to watch on a bye weekend for the Dees.
  4. I have plenty of EFC type videos. I want to do quite a few different clubs, but thought I'd start with the Demons Goals video. I thought about doing text with Player, year, Round and opponent for each goal, but I'm a bit lazy. lol 50 isn't enough, there were a stack of great goals that didn't make it. There was at least another 10 that I had to chop. It did turn into a mixture of clutch (Froggy 1964 GF, White vs WB, Leoncelli vs Adel 2001) and just sheer brilliance. I could have focused on significant and clutch a bit more, include more of the significant finals goals for example, or Rd 22 1987, but I wanted to include a lot of the skilful freakish goals over the years. A tough task narrowing it down to 50, but I enjoyed it and I hope you all enjoy the memories.
  5. Video is finished and uploaded. I haven't ranked them in order as that is a just about impossible task. So many great goals missed out, but thanks again for your help and suggestions. Enjoy.
  6. Richmond are going ok. I reckon there are about 5 or 6 sides around the same mark, but Richmond seem to be a level above. Melbourne, St Kilda, Essendon, Fremantle, even Collingwood are all pretty much the same, good enough if they have a day out to beat anyone (eg Melb beat Crows, Essendon beat Geelong, Saints vs GWS) but far too inconsistent and to be honest, just not good enough to challenge for top 6. All drop games they shouldn't. Fremantle have managed to string some wins together, but I'm not sure they have the cattle to consistently compete against the best in the comp. Whoever fills that 8th spot will probably do it on the back of a nice draw and less injuries than the rest of the chasing pack.
  7. So you think Goddard doesn't really care, he just pretends?
  8. See, we can go in circles here, so this is the last time I'll make my point. It's easy if you don't follow Goddard closely to draw the conclusion he just berates teammates and throws tantrums, but there is a lot more to him than that when it comes to his leadership. You've stated you virtually don't watch Essendon games cos you can't stand us, so I doubt you can form an educated view of Goddard and his leadership. I assume you would have seen the article in the Herald Sun on Goddard this week, saw it was written by Mark Robinson and you would have assumed it was Essendon dribble and not read it. If you read that article, it will show you what type of man Brendon Goddard is.
  9. Obviously I'm in the minority, but that's why I love Goddard. He cares about the result, he shows passion. Yes, there are other ways to show it other than taking it out on bowl of lollies, but you are left in no doubt about how much he cares about trying to win a footy match. He has been great for us in a really trying few years. Funny, I have read over the years on this forum so many people bemoan Melbournes lack of passion and leadership, yet you guys bag Goddard. But I guess if you don't follow him closely, which you obviously don't, why would you, it's easy to draw to the conclusion he just yells and points a lot and isn't a leader. Plus he plays for Essendon, so he is behind the 8-ball from the start.
  10. It's on the way.
  11. Round 22 at the MCG. This goal will be in the video. And the player he ran around on the mark, just an average defender by the name of Chris Langford.
  12. Awesome stuff guys. I appreciate the responses, lots of goals I already had in the video, but quite a few have been added on the back of your suggestions, eg Lyon in 1988 Prelim Keep the memories and suggestions coming
  13. Need help / suggestions. Trying to put together some football highlight videos for Youtube. One of them will be the top 40 MFC goals ever, maybe even a top 50. I have got a collection together but I don't want to miss any really memorable goals. So need suggestions, just to make sure I haven't missed any. Any player, any era. To maybe help narrow down suggestions, I already have the obvious ones, eg Farmer GOTY 1998, the Liam Jurrah sitting on his butt snap against Freo 2009. Woewodin vs Port 1998, Oliver 3 weeks ago in Adelaide. I won't list them all, but happy for you guys to throw any suggestion out there.
  14. Bulldogs won a flag last year without a recognised ruckman......and a make shift forward line.
  15. I guess it's like many recent seasons when clubs got to play Melbourne or Carlton twice, while other clubs only once. Every year it happens, teams get to play the wooden spooner twice or once depending on the luck of the draw. But I can't understand your frustration, especially depending on how the ladder finishes, the 8th place team might get 8 points out of Essendon games and the Dees might finish 9th with zero points from Essendon games.
  16. It would appear there are. Several seasons according to some. The best argument is a comparison to cycling teams in the Tour de France. Wow. People have a go at me for not reading their crap, yet claim I'm playing the victim. Perhaps they're not reading my drivel, as I've never claimed that. There's a difference between playing the victim, and having an opinion that the punishments handed out have been adequate. My comparisons to Bock are merely to point out some inconsistencies in people views here. How blinded they are by hating Essendon, rather than hating drug cheats as they claim. But hey, it doesn't change anything, just like an official Essendon apology people are after won't change the past. But yes, it would show remorse, which I would like to see my club show. In the end, Essendon were found guilty, punishments are being served, and I'm more than disappointed with what took place at my club 4 years ago. But statements like Essendon should be banned from the AFL for several seasons are typical of the controversial rubbish a lot of keyboard warriors like to run with. Especially when it can't be backed up with any sort of logic.
  17. I can't disagree with any of that. That's why I like the Lindsay Tanner attitude of move forward, not look back. Punishments have been handed out, they are being served, club has suffered (and still suffering), but what can the current admin do to change that. Nothing. They can only control what happens going forward. So apart from the pending appeal for the players (which was a "free hit" for them), the current admin are trying to move forward. Can't control the masses though, unfortunately the loudest supporters are the ones who believe injustices have occurred. There are plenty of us out there who just want to move on, but we aren't the ones who make any noise.
  18. So that is your argument? Russia? How would that be fair to the Russian athletes that are clean? As for playing for no points, what does that achieve? We are only going to win one game for the season anyway, whether we finish on 4 points or no points doesn't really matter too much.
  19. It's the nature of the AFL these days that it's almost impossible for teams to go on really long win streaks. Even the top teams drop games they shouldn't. Look at Sydney tonight, Hawthorn also nearly lost to the Saints, GWS lost to Melbourne in Round 1 after having 8 more scoring shots. So the fact the Roos have escaped that sort of result and got through to 8-0 shows they are a pretty decent side. The tests will come though, they still have to play Hawthorn, Geelong, GWS, Sydney at the SCG and WCE at Subiaco.
  20. Have a good look at it, there was zero tunnelling. Just hope the young fella is ok, there was real concern for him at the ground. Looked to be out cold, wasn't pleasant.
  21. This. I was at the game and it was a training run for North in the first half. Essendon took the game on more in the second half, but seriously, North were never going to lose the game at any stage. They just cruised after half time. They have quality and experience on every line, and I'd be surprised if they're not top 4 for the 3rd year in a row. Only 1 MCG game this year is not an issue, Harvey, Pretrie, Waite, Swallow, Goldstein, Dal Santo etc have played more games on the MCG than I've had hot dinners.
  22. Bock himself, Dank and Dean Robinson have all given evidence that he took a banned substance. Receipts showing Bock paying for said substances are also involved. Look, it's fine. I understand that you guys have very little interest in Bock compared to Essendon. I'm the same. Bock not being to coach local footy in Qld doesn't affect us, but 34 past and present Essendon players being banned for 12 months is massive. But at least pretend to be upset that a 'damn stinkin' drug cheat' in Bock has got away scott free [fresh investigation pending]. Or will that cast questions over the competency of ASADA? I need someone to explain to me how you can justify banning the entire club from playing in the AFL in season 2016. None of the administrators in charge of the club this season were there in 2012. Obviously none of the players available to us to play this season were part of the supplements program in 2012. Remind me why they are being punished again? Makes zero sense. But looking forward to hearing the logic behind the theory.
  23. You do realise you can't dish out more punishments just because Essendon hasn't "taken it on the chin" like you want us to. Shouldn't be playing in the comp this year? Where's the logic in that? Why would you ban the players currently listed who weren't even there in 2012. You want 8 games a week instead of 9, meaning the TV rights money is cut, which mean less money given to financially struggling clubs like Melbourne. You have less clue than I even thought. Yes there has been appeals and legal challenges, but Essendon had the right to use those. Whether it was the correct course of action, obviously its up for debate. As WJ summarised, we have lost 4 seasons so far due to this saga, and who knows how long it will take us to fully recover. And Jobe will most likely lose the Brownlow, but just let the appeal come and go and it will all happen at the right time. You remind me of those whinging North supporters who ring up talk back radio sooking "no one gives us respect, we're top of the ladder and no one rates us". Who cares what the average punter thinks, or the media hacks out there, is North a better team because people rate them. In your case, you want everything to happen now. Just sit back, be happy Essendon are struggling, and just let the appeals be heard, and Jobe will lose his Brownlow when it happens. It really isn't worth getting this upset over. I assume you are equally angry about Nathan Bock not being charged by ASADA. Clear evidence he took a banned substance, yet no charges. You must be furious.
  24. I must be in a rule breaking mode, cos to be honest Beelzebub, I scroll past your posts every time. I don't bother reading them, nothing to learn or gain from reading what you write. But I'll break my rule this time, tell me mate, what do you want the Essendon FC to do, right now. We have lost draft picks, fined $3mil, kicked out of the finals, and we had 34 past and present players suspended for 12 months. Yes, we fought the charges. Yes, some parties associated with the club have taken questionable legal action. You want acknowledgement?? In what form? Listen to Xavier Campbell. Listen Lindsay Tanner. The current administration has acknowledged the mistakes of the past, but the club is moving forward. We can't change the past, the players are serving their suspension. What more do you actually want to happen?
  25. FWIW, I also heard Damien Barrett talk about it on Footy Classified on ch 9. I appreciate the hatred for the Bombers. As you say, it's football. It's funny, cos I really don't care what most people on here think about my club. I didn't log on or look at Demonland for several months after some uneducated idiot on here compared the Essendon Football Club to the Nazi party last year. I know there is hatred for Essendon on here, and most of the banter is fine, but that comparison was offensive and in my opinion, overstepped the mark by a long way. When I joined Demonland in about 2001 (don't bother running off to check my profile, it will say I joined in 2005, but the site was "relaunched" in 2005), that sort of posting was never a part of this great site. I thought the Nathan Bock situation might of caused more a stir on here, as a lot of posters were very much 'all drug cheats should be burnt at the stake' during the Essendon saga, but I guess he didn't play for Essendon so the passion for that is not as great. Now that I have got that rant off my chest, and going back to the original point, I also understand the scepticism. But the people currently in charge of the EFC are a very different bunch to those in charge back in 2012. I think it's naïve to just say "Essendon are drug taking scum cheats, they'll find a way to be dishonest and get out of this". The club is moving forward, dealing with the circumstances it is in, and I believe all signs are that they are trying to do the right thing. I really don't think the AFL will turn a blind eye to large legal payments made outside the salary cap to supplement (pardon the pun) lower than market value contracts signed by any of the banned 12. But obviously most of you guys do. And that really doesn't bother me overly. I guess we will find out one day.
