  1. Hale in my eyes is the PERFECT recruit for us. We need a tall option up forward like a cay needs a litter! He gives us the bail out option which will give confidence to spped up our transistion and bring ball to ground for our smalls well. THEN he adds the 2nd ruck for 6-9 mins a quarter meaning we do not ned another back up, thus giving us another runner on the bench! he is not a star but we dont need nor really want him to be! 35-45 goals, lots of contests and an extra runner are better for us than a star anyway. Thats just my opinion. Yours is a valid one also. Glad ppl are enjoying the info, it means I can keep updating without worrying about annoying those ppl who forget that 98% (actual figure) of proposals amount to zip. To re-iterate, WE WONT be getting both Walker and Mckinley, or Sherman AND Hill, teams know what they want and generally target 3 or 4 of that type hoping to maybe land 1 of them.
  2. Nowhere. I post during the year and visit alot! Juast this time of year last 3 years due to work I get info worth starting a topic. Some small developments today. Didnt hear anything on JOnes, still same word he is in limbo but most likely will stay and that remains my mail but you never know. Sherman has inked Demons as one of his top 3 teams but am yet to hear if demons reciprocate. Only other thing I was told today is that Djerrkura is also a target. Cheers.
  3. Here are a few pieces of scuttlebutt hovering around Demons. Please remember that 98% of mentioned deals do NOT eventuate, but a fact is that over 25 deals a team get proposed through this period. it is best to try and limit the ones posted to those that seem to have some momentum and generally more than one source. If you don't like what you hear, relax, it most likely will not happen. I'm reporting what I am lucky to hear through my job with my news publication with three sports management offices also in the building. I post them not becuse I think they are going to happen, but simply I have heard them mentioned directly from numerous people. Most importantly, I post them because its interesting to know and as Demon fans you deserve to know and enjoy the mystery/intruige of it all! Here you are: - Warnock highly sought, Demons playing hardball (some feel to simply increase value, some think we genuinely will not trade). Proposed offers from Carlton (Setanta, Fisher & Grigg mentioned), Hawks (Muston, Dowler, picks), Dogs (Hill, Everitt). Saints also believed to be keen. - Jones close to a deal, Bombers still hunting as are GC. Houli a mentioned possibility if he leaves. Also murmours of a swap with Stanton. Most likely to re-sign. - Kyle Cheney being shopped around. - Clayton Hinkley likely to be a Demon. Trade for a pick appears most likely at this stage. - David Hale now appears most likely to be part of Jacobs/Walker trade. Latest word is Demons may give Warnock away as part of the deal (Carlton) - Jesse White a priority, Swans playing hard ball. Very unlikely! - Taylor Walker being shopped by Crows, demons baulking at asking price. Appears dead in water. - Ben McKinley looking likely to land at either Demons or Tigers. Will depend on Walker/Hale. - Andrejs Everitt high on radar if cheap. - David Armitage has spoken with 4 clubs, Dees one. - Cam Bruce still very much in limbo - Alwyn Davey has reportedly requested trade to Demons. Hird appointment may change this though. Also with Stanton. - Addam Maric has requested a trade. Possible swap for Davey - Delisted Roo Josh Smith likely to do pre-season with Demons. Possible Rookie. Thats about all I have heard. Only ones that are looking more than just minor discussions ar this stage are Hale, Maric, Davey & Warnock. As They are coming up in numerous peoples info. Ensure your salt grains are handy, Trade week is sheer craziness people. Try to remember that.
  4. I can verify this one. Just asked around at work. Most likely to be cheap trade or PSD.
  5. Not big enough. We need a TALL target as a bail out option when going long and create a contest for smalls. Anthony not the player we need. Hale is a far better option even purely as a FWD, let alone as Jamar's relief. ANother target who hasnt been mentioned publically is Setanta. Sure he isnt a saviour but he would be a target. But I beleive he is on the list at least, as is Minson. But HAle is the one who is as close to done as can be at this stage pending is medical results from this week and the GC offer.
  6. Hale would be an option! The Pick 14 and Thronton for Taz is complete utter silliness but good crack at some deals there, love the Maric 4 Davey! Dees pretty quiet in rumours atm! Normally at work I hear a few but not many at all as yet, which could actually be a GOOD sign! Hpwever, one thing I can say is that picks are not on the agenda, Warnock to Blues is on, but far more likely to involve another club as well or be a player swap for say Setanta or Hampson etc
  7. 6 - Frawley 5 - Jurrah 4 - Dunn 3 - Macdonald 2 - Davey 1 - Watts Chip showing the dees picked the right man. LJ presented all day and could of bagged 7. Dunn continues his amazing rise from the abyss.Macdonald again goes about his busness of hard work with no fuss! Davey hit taqrgets in key links all day.Watts had some great ball use and set up alot of attacks.
  8. 6. Sylvia 5. Macdonald 4. Garland 3. Jamar 2. Mckenzie 1. Watts Anyone who did not have J MAC are seriosuly kidding, surely??
  9. You are wrong my friend. The club has made the offer, its not rumour at all! He is a star, and well done dees for doing it! He creates the spine solidarity we need! Our window will come with Lake playing the last line, hes got alot of footy left!
  10. Beautifully said. Some ppl dont get it! Well done dees! PS: apparently the offer is HUUUUGE!
  11. Exactly. Remeber guys, Lake is not just your average defender, he is perhaps the best around if not equal. He is attacking, strong and fits well with DB's style of play. Garland would go forward as was the plan anyway, Lake takes the best tall forward, Warnock the 2nd, Rivers/Frawley CHB Martin back up ruck and forward. Rivers may be used to obtain a forward, as we know, hawks, swans, cats, Lions, Tigers even, are looking for key defenders. This also fits woth what HArrington said when he stated we had 3 key forwards developing: ie: Martin, Garland and Watts, who else could he mean? But there is still room if we decide to keep him: Warnock Lake Cheney Grimes Frawley Rivers Garland CHF Martin FF It works. We have made an offer, club doesnt deny it, so get behind it and hope, even though I think he'll stay, imagine, Lake for free, pick 1, pick 2, 18 & 34.. Watts (weve not really seen him yet as he will be), Blease, Strauss and Bail to come.. Sounds quite ok no? PS: Dont start listening to Hutchy now, he just disagrees cus it came from Caro, he's jealous he didnt get the story! thats what he always does, opposite view to any other journo's inside info, cmon guys!
  12. Outside leg speed, which is a major need! But I agree with the reservations, would only take for a player, say Bartram, Bell, PJ..
  13. Very well said. People on this forum never cease to amaze me, constantly trying to put someone down! He is a great talent, but no, he wont be no.2 pick, however, he is NOT Jay Schulz, he is a talent with alot of raw potential that just needs some good coaching and learning on the job at senior level.
  14. Well obviously we are not flying in the ruck, but PJ is just not good enough, Jamar has been ok but has trade value, Spencer is raw but looks ok, Meeson played well and is progressing ok with his injury. No point holding onto players just because. There are a few ruckman in the draft, which would mean 4 depending on whether Jamar gets interest. PJ may hang on due to having a final year.
  15. DELIST MEESON????? NO He finally shows us he can make the grade, gets hurt and u wanna delist? He is our No.1 Ruckman in DB's eyes, so it wont happen. PJ will be delisted and Jamar up as Bait also. As for not trdaing 4 players, I promise you we will trade for 1-2 players, aged between 20-23. We are VERY cautious of going too young, the club does not want to bottom out again, now its time to rise! we have the kids, its now time to move up the ladder and settle on the squad. BP has said this in interviews, we will use 3-4 picks then the PSD. We WILL be looking to improve our best 22 during trade week, there is a list of targets. This is our chance to capitalize on the value of later picks. We dont want to get any younger, the talent is here, add in 3-4 more and 1-2 more mature kids (20-22 ie: Boak) thats the plan!
  16. Love it! Doubt Port would though, we'd need to add another pick, say 55 etc..
  17. I also am keen on Boak and have a feeling Pearce is on our radar also! Port have stated ALL players are up as bait! Pick 2 for Boak not enough though, but not far off, something like 2 & 35 for Boak and Pearce would be ok in my book! Salopek on our list also, im hearing Jamar rumours with Port also..
  18. Pick 18 for Raines? WOW Can you imagine the tigers if we offered them that? haha Add Schulz or Pattison and its a ripper trade! Seriously though, he's going ALOT cheaper than that, but is off to Lions apparently.
  19. Hold on.. Showed some good form late in year, and is a good type to have. Would take him for a 5th rounder! Ben Mckinley is the eagle we have shown interest in though, as have 2 or 3 other VIC clubs, him id take for a 3rd rounder MAYBE 4th..
  20. Very well said! No need for us to fight, we should all just be very excited, all other clubs are drooling, so why cant we!
  21. Oh, and btw, Riewoldt played 6 games, so not much anyway, he was also a little older, IMHO Jack will play 6-9 games anyway, so, as for that, they are not far off, and NOick is the closeest example, but as I mentioned, school makes a HUGE differance! I think we can all agree that were excited, and that we should not jump the gun yet, positively or negatively.
  22. I do see your point, and perhaps my anger was misdirected. I guess im just sick of ppl being negative all the time. Im not pumping him up, im simply asking we dont judge him at all until he has had a chance to prove himself. As for my footy knowledge, well, I'll put that down to you being defensive, so fair enough. I played over 400 games, played for my state and have worked at 2 clubs administration, I know my footy, but passion can sometimes cloud opinions. I went too harshly at you personally, poerhaps I mis-read your view and was far too defensive, so im sorry. As for Morton being my avator, and ppl saying it "concerns them" we pump them up too much, cmon, thats just silly. Im not saying Jack will without doubt be a superstar, but yeah, I hope he does, lets just wait and see is all. As for Cale, well the kid is flying and atm looks the goods, long way too go, but yeah, too right im excited, about all our kids, who wouldnt be? Iv never seen us have a list as young and talented as this at our club, its fantastic!
  23. Nope sorry! Kruezer is a ruckman, he was far bigger built and 18 months older, you cannot compare the 2! Jack is still in high school, thats a MASSIVE factor! Riewoldt did not play in his 1st year, if he did, it was AFTER round 11, Jack WILL play within the next 4 or 5. My real point is, JAck is a massive talent, and deserves the time to concentrate on building his physique, study hard, and build a core fitness! I just will not listen to idiots who just throw around negative vibes, its just ridiculous! As for being named in the best, they dont give them away, he did what he was asked, and named, simple! at his age and stage of development, thats a great effort! The club were delighted with how he performed. Yes, somemay say others were better, but to be honest, id rather hear it from the club rather than some Demonland observers. Those of you who bag JAck, be ready for some warm, steamy, sticky humble cherry pie! Morons.
  24. Are you kidding me? It is fools like you that stop me from coming here more often. He was on a modified program pre-season, is 8 weeks behind the rest of the squad, the club has said they expect nothing from him at senior level, he was drafted under age, this year, he would not be able to be drafted with the new age limits. Jack is doing just fine, better infact. HE WAS NAMED IN THE BEST!! what more do you want? Seriously, people like you just make me so angry, no idea about development at all!! Plenty of no.1 pickls take time, especially the taller younger, less developed ones! Riewoldt ring any bells? how many games did he play in year 1? oh thats right, NONE! He is the latest example of a top KPP pick! Relax, Jack is allright by me!
