  1. He and Scarlett wld be icing on the cake but I’m personally super excited for King & his style! Has played HUGE role in GFC ball movement excellence and he knows he’s the coach we need which for me is a great sign.. Sure it’d be good to upgrade list w/Mihocek, Flanders or Windhager, Heath.. but even if we don’t get them done it’s an exciting time and yes as many have said it MAY be a period of adjustment but it also might take immediately imho we have the talent and are 1-2 more good users away from success its such a marginal league we need some luck of course but no ceiling on right now or floor for that matter I suppose!
  2. Need someone to help bridge the gap — ala Membrey at Pies.feds like BM don’t grow on trees, perfect fit for needs and for development of the younger guys like Luker
  3. Indeed! Been my ideal target for a while, finishing is so good — presents so well, love the fit for us!
  4. Well summed up
  5. Word was they were keener on Clarry but I’d much prefer they chase Trac — better return in a trade and I think Clarry is more invested, more bankable assets Trac’s kicking for me has just become too much a liability — then there’s the fact many teammates have allegedly questioned his effort, if he wants out let him go so long as the trade has value
  6. Flanders pace is of absolutely zero concern — his late game running is especially game breaking thanks to his tank, but his straight line pace is excellent.
  7. Umm no, they’re not lol it’s just a fast typing error, hence why I called him Leek earlier! As for someone saying Flanders is slow.. yikes
  8. Was only 25 wasn't it? They are already in the door, King just wouldn't name them today out of respect for those leaving ie Bassett, Williams and he also said he wanted to win job on merit rather than whom he was bringing in with him, a comment I found utterly intoxicating :)
  9. Was only 25 wasn't it?
  10. Figured as much from Today's presser, deducing since they mentioned Jones it wasn't him, obv not Chappy -- so one had to be Bassett. Excited to see whom Kingy has in mind, Kelly would be amazing but prob unlikely Geel lose another one.. Maybe Jennings? that'd be fun!
  11. Fair, but i think he was growing into a player whom made better decisions and that he suits modern footy to perfection...
  12. Who thinks he is a plodder? he is an essential player whose role will only grow in the new style for mine!
  13. I like Heath as a Fullarton upgrade. Had excellent size and competitiveness, could be a nice handy pick up!
  14. What he is not reporting is that Dees won't pull trigger unless the ROI is there!!!
  15. Absolutely but I am trying to articulate I think he is more than mere depth! If I was betting, I'd go >125 how's that?
  16. How bloody good... Caulfield here we come it seems!!! Absolutely changes the game for us on SO MANY fronts.
  17. I think we have enough, we just weren't optimizing the right ball handlers and trusting them to have freedom as King referenced. McVee, Salem, Windsor (perfect example of a guy whose been hurt by lack of freedom), Rivers, Kos, Flanders (wink), Langford, Lindsay, Fritta... we just need a gameplan that ensures we get the ball to them more often, ala Brisbane do to get ball to Zorko, Bailey etc as they run through middle...
  18. Reckon they'll relocate now mate haha
  19. Extremely well said.. Medicals are a key part of ALL recruiting but Backs are famously ambiguous, one doc may say 'he is cooked' whilst another says 'he is 100% good to go for 10 years" -- it is that extreme of a dichotomy. Having dealt with numerous Workcover cases as a Manager at work, I can think of 3-4 cases where we got completely contrasting reports that were as drastic as "they're fine, faking it most likely" to '"this is one of the worst back injuries there can be" from the same case. BUT, it is imperative to note, some back injuries are clear cut, so it all depends on the specifics.
  20. ""We're gonna be Flanderisississes""
  21. It sure was Dazzle... I could not be one iota more impressed than I have been by ALL his media appearances thus far... clearly a quality person and as even David King and Corn said earlier, we got a good one there! Nothing on the club's website or socials about the press conference anywhere? Was about to ask same thing... toey to see the King!!!
  22. Was about to ask same thing... toey to see the King!!!
  23. 100% and Guerra made that abundantly clear on SEN today!
  24. Flanders the exciting one for me.. he can bring genuine pace, skill and fills huge needs for us...More so than Windhager (although I do love idea of having a stopper that is not Viney) -- but he feels like re-signing but part of me wonders why he hasn't already if saints upped offer, was he waiting to meet with our coaches plans for him? unlikely perhaps but its def a thought that's got some ponderous validity, albeit it of a small-ish volume. Derksen/Heath are good depth, but I think Derksen has potential to be a 200 gamer -- for anyone who thinks GWS do not rate him, think about how strongly vehement they were LY in keeping him, despite huge KPP depth. He did not break in for a game, because he doesn't mix with the gun talls they already have, Aliir/Wehr offer more mobility to matchup on smalls and offer run, it is that simple ie he was never going to play ahead of Taylor/Idun/Buckley which is no slight taht is for sure. Flanders though, feels right! If we do win his services (more likely now since the coach that made him a mid is ours) GC will make us pay, but ultimately they likely need the salary cap relief! Other Targets that are fairly viable: Lord, Brown, Lewis, Jackson (der, but imagine), Maley (GK worries me though), Heath (happening), Mihocek, Georgiadis, Mackenzie, Hustwaite, Derksen (happening), Blight (Del FA/Supp signing), Shanahan (2026 Target?).. If we can land another 2 of these on top of Derksen/Heath, I think that is a solid win. The amt of immediate delistings show me that we are anticipating at least 3 non-draft additions, with 2-3 more players on the edge should we come to need more list spots. Sure, more could avail itself should Trac or Clarry be lured out, but as it stands I think that now appears at least less likely than it would have 8wks ago...
  25. Def not.. he FINALLY looked 80% of the 2022 (and pre) player in the last month, new coach new lease on life perhaps, more defined role, he just needs to be Rowell which I think he can, but better hands (albeit a less confidant kick)...
