A new dawn for the Demons - our 2025 squad
What’s most frustrating is there is only one team in the competition playing consistent footy this year, one. Teams have been falling over themselves this year, and here we are languishing outside the 8. When we decide to move it quickly we actually look dangerous at times.

I’d like to see Goody release the shackles for the rest of the season, what we’re currently doing isn’t working. If he’s not prepared to do so he needs to step aside. Let’s play a fast paced game and see who can cut it, are the players actually enjoying the game at the moment?

SOLUTIONS NEEDED. 2 JUNE 2024. Memo to Goody
It’s almost like unless we have a full list to chose from we’ve always got an excuse. If only we had a gun key fwd we’d be unstoppable, Carlton have two (McKay hit and miss but having arguably his best season to date) and there 5th. Pies won the flag last year with Miohcheck as their big man. Our gameplan is not working, we can’t score, we’ve gone from bombing it long to a congested fwd line to kicking it with more purpose to a congested fwd but so wide a lot of our marks our deep in the pockets. Our smalls have a habit of not being in the right spot.

Collingwood’s fwd line on Friday night, Hill, Schultz, Harrison, McCreery, Lupinkski & Frampton. Now compare our gameplan to theirs. Yes McAdam needs to go back to the VFL.

POSTGAME: Rd 12 vs Fremantle
We’re overthinking it, I don’t think it’s our fitness or president, it’s our game plan. Yes defence is important but we have lost the ability to score. In 3 weeks we’ve gone from potentially 2nd to outside the 8. If we’re not going to change the way we play may as well shut up shop.

POSTGAME: Rd 12 vs Fremantle
To me it can only be one of two things, the coach has lost the players or the gameplan is outdated and not working and the coach / coaches are doing nothing about it. The players know where they’re at in terms of premiership window, i’d be frustrated if I was playing at the club. We can keeping citing top 4 finishes the last 2 seasons but that’s starting to wear this. Again as an example, look at the way Collingwood took the game on in their on Friday night.

POSTGAME: Rd 12 vs Fremantle
Considering our list, last 3 seasons including 1 flag and two other top 4 finishes (the back to back straight set exits were hard to swallow) today for me is on par with 186. Today’s result was more than embarrassing, we are a joke of a club right now. Our last 3 weeks says a lot, beaten by the Eagles, a scrappy win over the hapless Saints and today’s destruction at the hands of Freo. As alluded to by others there’s something not right inside the club right now because we are obviously not as bad as we’re playing. Todays lack of effort was a statement by the players, todays loss requires more than just a review of the game. If Goody has lost the players he has to go straight away, we are currently spiraling out of control. Look at how many players Collingwood had out on Friday night and look at how the played, speaks volumes. Absolutely no excuses, none.
