Appreciate that, was thinking we (the club) need to become proactive rather than reactive with regards to players. If Hogan is to leave, in terms of our clubs progress then another 18 year old puts us back a step. If we could dangle the homesick card and lure either a Peter Wright (3rd season in 2017) or Josh Schache (2nd season in 2017) then we wouldn't lose too much momentum. Start talks early, don't want to get caught with pants down again.

Was just reading Josh Schache rejected Brisbane's offer of a contract extension. Will be playing his mandatory 2nd year with the club that drafted him next year. Played 17 games, averaging 4 marks a game, kicked 16.18, the accuracy doesn't read well but having said that think I only saw him once and he went ok that day. Is he coming back to Victoria at the end of next year?

That's it, comes down to asking price and no more than a two year contract.

How should of it been handled? Please elaborate on his treatment over the last two years being a disgrace. Yes the club handled him poorly early in his career, but the last two years?

Anyone can be named in the same sentence as anyone. Is he worth that much, maybe not, but would it get the deal done, yes. If the deal was ever to eventuate you could ask for a second rounder in return, or offer 1 pick and a player. Its about if Hogan goes getting a ready made replacement straight in rather than picks or fringe players. This club needs to become proactive rather than continue to be reacactive.
