Freo apparently asking for pick 27 for Balic. Would maybe explain the hold up

For real, 27? I'm clueless when it comes to drafts and points systems but surely not.

I just read Impey became a Hawk for pick 31 and some swaps later on in draft.

    27 seems rich.

Not having a go at you by the way, just the asking price.

Sorry, this has been repeated over and over again. During the Bluey thread someone suggested they thought they saw him siting sixth. At the time, I thought I saw the leaderboard showing him on the third line making him 11th (maybe). Does anyone have any concrete evidence of this 6th after round 14 claim or is this another example of a mistake or untruth being repeated so many time that posters start to accept it as given?

I thought I saw the same GV, around 11th or 12th, hence my pleasant surprise when it was suggested he was 6th after 14 rounds.

I couldn't make out the leaderboard properly through the live stream.

I couldn't find a vote count anywhere after 14 rounds so I emailed the club if it was possible to attain one and all I received was a thanks and my feedback will be passed  onto the marketing and events department.

This thread is infuriating. People need to up their medication if they think Watts is staying. Geez!!
This thread is about what we will get in return, not if he will stay or not

I'm convinced you received a faulty batch of Skwosh and customer support aren't returning your calls.

Some excellent points, but I'm so sick of hearing players, coaches etc banging on about the disappointment of missing finals. They can't be that disappointed, or they'd do something about it.

The talk of disappointment means nothing , regardless of losses earlier in the year an opportunity was presented in round 23 and they failed miserably.

No one high up had the balls to label it as unacceptable and that's exactly what round 23 was.

two quick boundaries and jack has bounded to the lead.....mesmerising footwork.....will he still be there at stumps on day 2.....stay tuned

I lost interest in cricket a long time ago but I'm loving your commentary.

Every now and then we need a commercial break on this thread.

now that it is an all spin attack, jack has risked his arm and lashed out, closing the gap to a mere 2 runs

if he can just hold his nerve, and with jake taking a lot of punishment, he should easily be first to 150

after that, who knows?.... is his maiden double century a possibility?

we'll be back after the tea break

Do we have any reviews left?

Won't be happy if Jack is dismissed prior to 150?

First class, nice work Snake, could have taken a little less cash so the club hired something better than the acoustic duo we had to put up with during the B&F.

  8. According to the AFL site Charlie Cameron won't be signing with Adelaide when his contract expires next year and the club has been told so.

A case of trade me now or I'm gone next year anyway.

Should he be looking forward to a whole season in the SANFL next year?

You sound like one of those clingy boyfriends that can't accept that she ain't coming back. But it's okay, she wasn't good for you anyway. And yes, JW is the girl in my example.

To suggest JW for Zac Jones is just embarrassing. Jones is probably going to be an AA back pocket one day and breaks the lines and plays a hard brand of footy that would stand up in finals.

Let's just close the door on this botched number 1 pick and look forward to some guys that know how to tackle with intent and chase with intensity.  I'm excited about it!

The writing has been on the wall for a long time now. The nail in the coffin was when we picked up weideman. Clearly with Hogan and Weidemen (with a 1st rounder) it demonstrated a clear understanding that JW was never going to amount to  more than a fringe player that can play the odd good game from time to time.

Let me get this straight, we pick up the Weed and to you that's an indication the club nailed Watts coffin, yet later in the season the club extends his contract by a further 3 years.

    Brilliant!

that's craziness! there are some players you've listed that in no way offer what watts does as a player. do you watch every dees game?

He only watches Watts if you go by his previous posts, he can also tell you the colour of his jocks.

I should look it up before making calls, but didn't we have our biggest wins of the year, this year without Jesse and a mobile forward line?

Yes we did, no denying that, but can that be repeated for a whole season?

With Jesse and Max out it gave us unpredictability for a while but we all saw how the season ended when we were worked out.

Watts was part of those big wins.

I'm not enjoying this trade period.

Yep, some on here have already microwaved the popcorn and can tell you how this movie will finish and can't wait to come out with the "I told you so" line.

If we were to lose Watts and Jesse can  someone explain to me how we will be better next year with two of our better players forward of centre gone?

  13. 4 minutes ago, Dr.D said:

i wouldnt mind if hogan goes.  we'd get some compo and our best wins were without him this year because he sooks instead of applying defensive pressure

Seriously mate, show some respect, Jesse didn't miss games this year through sooking.

  14. If anyone wants to take a time out from this thread I suggest two options.

    1 - I salute Jack Watts thread.

2 - Jack Watts (again) thread.

I ventured there a short time ago and strangely found myself back here to make sense of it all.

fortunately, with jason Taylor at the helm we have a recruiter that prioritises competitiveness, combativeness and desire. He wouldnt have touched watts back in the 08 draft despite the hype.

Can you give me tonight's lotto numbers?

  16. With the realisation of Watts leaving the MFC, its starting to burn in the guts quite a bit.

Pre 2014 is irrelevant to me and to most members that have joined since. Our product on the field has improved since and so has Jacks in my opinion.

People are allowed to remember his fine moments like QB. For people to suggest he won't make the cut in finals is a little bit out there.

We haven't played in a final since you know when but the QB game certainly felt like one, the "experts" labelled that game as the best and fastest spectacle they'd witnessed up to that point. Jack passed with flying colours.

There are other examples too but they have been brought up many times.

No one is the 100% complete footballer.

I can see two ways Watts stays, he can tell the club to F off and have everything thrown at him until the commencement of next season and we will be going around in circles yet again on here.

Or, can one of our more astute Demonlanders come up with a brilliant "Keep Watts" campaign?

Good luck Jacky boy and many that attend the B&F will thank you for sticking with what was an irrelevant place all those years ago.
