I'm only here until tomorrow, plus I have work to do so will probably only get in a sneaky look or two at Demonland.

JKH is the sub. I'm overseas so can't watch the game, all updates are much appreciated.

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 9
Straight Sets Simon replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
There is going to be one massive difference between having Gawn as compared to Frawley in the forward line, Gawn can take a mark over his head. I lost count of how many times Frawley got to a contest, pushed his man out only to let the ball drop to the ground witout really making an effort to go for it. The weakness with having both Frawley and Dawes in the same forward line is they are both better on the lead than in contested marking situations. This is why Clark and Dawes would have been such a great combination. -
I want Tapscott to succeed but I feel that his biggest weakness is that he has no agility and can only run in straight lines.

Well done. -
Awesome, well if true they will need to throw the kitchen sink at us to get a trade done.

Todd, not Jack Viney. -
He has a long way to go but has past two weeks have been far better.

I had the biggest Bulldogs nuffies behind me all game yelling "ball" every time a player looked like being tackled. -
I'd love to see Kent in for Byrnes but doubt it will happen with Kent missing a week through suspension.

One of my biggest frustrations (and I even made a thread about it last year) is that when Melbourne payers take a mark they are so slow to turn around and look forward. Sometimes they don't even look forward at all and just kick sideways without having a look at what is down the ground. -

That moment in the last quarter when McDonald was running to get the ball in the clear but completely missed it was terrible. -
In marking situations he does everything bar try and mark the ball. He and Howe should have been swapped in the last quarter.

Two cost us goals, I was saying the same thing during the game. -

I love Dawes but at almost every contest his opponent was able to get a spoil in. The floater kicks he received didn't help mind you. -

I'd much rather Kent. -

Frawley gets to marking contests but rarely actually puts his hands up to even mark the ball. He's not a forward. -

I'm so happy I don't support the Bulldogs, Melbourne are far more balanced with greater upside. -

Tom McDonald still scares me at times. -

I just felt that whole last quarter we weren't going to win. Matt Jones had a chance. -
Quality not quantity.
-
That Matt Jones miss is the difference.

We should win, we just should.
