GOODBYE MITCH CLARK
Straight Sets Simon replied to The Song Formerly Known As's topic in Melbourne Demons
The Melbourne Best & Fairest has become a stage to take potshots at players who have left or will leave. -

I want Mitch Clark to play for Melbourne, not a trade. -

I don't think that any of this was planned by Mitch Clark as a means to leave the club. When he retired he was very much into his photography, I just think that things have changed but sadly the impression is that they no longer involve the Melbourne Football Club. -

444 people reading this page, holy hell. Hi Damian Barrett. -

I'm worried that Melbourne has shot itself in the foot by paying him out. -

From memory he stuck with the story that Roos was coming even when we a had given up. -

He was right about Roos, that's his runs on the board for now. -

In other words, it all depends on what was negotiated with Clark. Hopefully we didn't stuff this one up either. -

Here's a tip, when you quote provide a date and a link if possible, otherwise it is meaningless. -

2015, not 2014. -

There isn't a direct quote there saying not coming back to Melbourne. You win, Barrett. You have successfully toyed with our frail emotions. Well done. -

I agree, but I think the club needs to be proactive and very clear straight away in the best interest of supporters and members. -

Melbourne have to delist him for that to happen. -

For all the our mistakes, we have been bloody unlucky at the same time over recent years. -

As I said, I've heard rumours but won't repeat them which makes me sound like a [censored], I know. However, these rumours may be complete rubbish and not true at all. Just saying that maybe the club don't want him (as crazy as it sounds). -

There is the option that Melbourne don't want him, I'd heard rumours a while ago which I dismissed (and won't repeat) but maybe the club don't want him. -

I would love to hear from the club with a definitive statement, one way or the other. End the speculation once and for all and give reasons. -

I wouldn't read too much into it. I think he was just being polite and acknowledging the players who have left (which Clark is at the moment). -
Player development comes through having stars. The Swans have done well with the likes of Goodes, O'Keefe and McVeigh over the years and their extra salary cap means they can attract stars and hold on to them.

Yes we can.

True, but it's splitting hairs.
