I don't think he would still be on our list if he was taken at pick 50. He was given a contract extension almost straight away.

He's definitely smaller now than he was a few years ago, he almost looks gaunt. Whether or not he is on the new diet doesn't concern me, but he must get bigger and stronger as far as I'm concerned.

If I was Geelong I would play every home game at Kardinia Park. I hate how some teams play home games at different venues (interstate home games excluded) because in Melbourne especially the MCG and Etihad are such different grounds in size and shape. They make a lot of money from filling it up each week and they play the ground which has unique dimensions better than any team.

For me, these players can still play a part (if they dominate in the VFL) but none of them should be relied upon too heavily and nor should more than one or two be in the team at the same time.

The more I think about it, the defining moment was at the selection table on Thursday night. A lot of people here said it was the best looking Melbourne team on paper in a number of years and as harsh as it sounds, not seeing Bail, Matt Jones, McKenzie and Grimes (although I thought his NAB Cup was solid) was reassuring.
