Suggest you crack at Bartlett about his 'wingeing'.
Tell him to stop watching and that he is not the type of fan you want in the MFC.
Bartlett was talking about one game, I hope Goodwin took the paint of the walls, nobody is disagreeing it was horrible, we deserve better
I for one hope it's not repeated
B1ut I will still be watching, coz I am not sick of the team

So the topic is "so I think I worked it out".
Are you saying the problem is the fans?
Or there is no problem?
Are you telling me not to watch MFC games?
I think the obvious problem remains our forward line, the lack of connection and conversion of inside 50's to score.
Give us you thoughts on this?
Please don't tell me how to use my time. I'm an adult and can choose my own behaviour without your mastery.
The point I was making, if you are sick of the Club and your only avenue to see games is on the web or tv, don't watch it, then we won't have pages and pages of 'I'm sick of this'
It was a poor game, the previous 3 games, the connection and conversion was on the improve
I posted some of the issues, such as players not being in top form etc
This site is infamous for blowing one way then the other depending on t h e result

Gee what a lot of twaddle in this topic
A couple of weeks ago and up to end of Brisbane game, we were on the right track, then we put in a really poor performance
Port and Brisbane are the two form sides of the comp, look what Brisbane did to the Bombers tonight
It's a glitch, we have a couple of games coming up to put it right
We have a few players in Fritsch, Brayshaw and Harmed who are not performing at the top, nothing whatsoever to do with contracts, just slightly off in form, with the examples of Hibberd and Jetta, they may be omitted against Adelaide
The centre bounce and stoppage need to be changed up, if you think the coaches don't know this
We scored one really good end to end goal against Port, to show we can play that way
Both the Bulldogs and Essendon put in shockers this week, we are not alone
Quite simple for all the complainers who are sick of it, the players, the coach etc if are based interstate from where the games are being played, don't watch the [censored] games

I think you're all piling on the club without thinking.
There's definitely a good reason for our misfortunes tonight, so I'm waiting on a fair and balanced appraisal of the game from @Satyriconhome
The worst performance of the season so far, Port got a run on and we again went into survival mode, don't win games of footy doing that 22 individuals Goodwin has every right to be angry
Tried moving Fritsch to get some form, didn't work
Kossie unfortunately shown up in an error riddled game
Lever had a poor game
Etc etc
They seriously need to look at centre bounce and stoppage work, too predictable

No saty, i'd prefer to see our team stick up from each other, rather than just watch it, and if that eventuates into a free kick from time to time, that's much better. look at the Hawks when they had all their success. they didn't mind sticking up for each other even if it meant from time to time it cost them a free kick.
The game has moved on, you can get a week for looking at somebody the wrong way
Unnecessary free kicks are momentum killers

One thing that struck me in the last game was the lack of blokes who go in to support when guys get roughed up.
Outside of Steven May they basically don't support their teammates.
I'd much rather see a free kick be given away than the captain get roughed up and noone stand with him/
So you would prefer a free kick, reversed free kick or a 50 given away, sure Goodwin would love that if it was in our defensive 50
You just hit the offending player hard and legitimately next time you get the chance

Says the guy who clearly didn't even read the entire post he was responding to and always has a perfectly balanced view on all our players...
What exactly do you disagree with?
If you look at all in and under midfielders, the disposal by foot can sometimes be all over the place, as they are constantly under pressure
Oliver may also fluff a kick or 2 a game with no pressure, with everything else he brings to the table, I can live with this. You will also notice he makes concerted efforts to try and tidy up the mess he made
I personally don't watch the game for mistakes, or feel the need to go back and review to find mistakes, you obviously do, which you are entitled to do
Doesn't mean everybody has to agree with your opinion

I'd like surprise Port - have some goodies I'd like to see ....
TMac, Sparrow, Tomlinson, Smith, Rivers IN
OMac, Jones, Jetta, Bennell, Harmes OUT
- TMac to CHB
- Sparrow to Bpocket and rotated through the midfield
- Tomlinson to Wing
- Smith to FFlk and rotated through midfield
Rotated midfielders may bring the likes of our consistent midfielders closer to goal for shots or passes - if they run hard enough. I am thinking of Clarrie and Gus, first in this regard.
I don't know what you are smoking, but I wish I had some
Sparrow -back pocket? I doubt he has ever played there
Smith-rotate through midfield in what role
As for Omac out

Oliver butchers the ball by foot when under no pressure at all, sometimes in crucial moments.
He does it every game, but the most glaring example (which incidentally is where all this talk started) was a few games back vs Richmond.
I assume you actually watched that game rather than just look at his stats afterwards to determine his impact?
If so, surely you recall the moment late in the 4th when we were still in it, he gets a free in the middle, shanks the kick intended for Petracca straight to Rioil who swoops, gets it to Lynch who scores? And with that killing any chance we had for a win?
Plenty of eyebrows raised after that game....
His kicking is my personal gripe and it's probably the gripe of most here that have any problem with Oliver.
(Some may also argue that a lot of his handballs don't actually hurt the opposition which is why he is rarely tagged).
On balance though, is any of that worthy of him being omitted from the team? No, probably not as the good he does far outweighs the bad.
That still doesn't change the fact that he butchers the ball by foot when under no pressure at all, and at times it has been very costly.
Thats not good enough for someone that is always in our best 22.
Keep going with your little crusade though.
Do you actually watch the whole game, or just looking for Oliver mistakes?

Love the comment about missing shots at goal, Brisbane weren't exactly brilliant either, we lost by less than a goal
A horrible score review, a silly 50, Brisbane 'just' better at the little things
Move on

Is Goody happy that you've told everyone he is unhappy? Or should that have been kept quiet as well?
Oh very droll, thought you could understand his attitude to extraneous noise
Just pointing it out, you have the option not to read

Then what's the point of Burgess doing a weekly injury report to the public when it's a personal matter??
You've contradicted yourself here Sat....
The 'official' injury report, the extent also has to be confirmed
The players sanction the official release
It was going to be released, my opinion, @goodwindees should have kept it to himself, but his choice, Goodwin is not a fan, hope he protects his source
-
Not really interested in out scooping someone, unlike some others, from past experience, just know Goody is unimpressed with info appearing on here before it is official
-
The club isn't secretive
Illess and injury are a personal matter, scans etc, operations etc
It was uncool that @goodwindees released the news, but understand why he did it, from.past history both Goodwin and Burgess will be [censored] that it was released before official confirmation

You just don’t believe info that you haven’t heard...
It bothers you...
I have been privvy to a lot of information over 6-7 years, most of it coming to fruition
i don’t always quote it on here, but seeing a noticeable change from both Goodwin and the Gamestyle i thought i would pass it on
Have you watched the video above Scoop
I don't believe a second hand piece of information that contradicts everything I have been told or heard
Never said that your not entitled to believe it
The game plan hasn't changed and you made no mention.of that in your original post, the personnel to successfully implement the game plan has been tweaked

If you believe that Chaplin would be prepared to give the lowdown on the coach being told to lift his game you are naive.
And I didn't get any assertion from SWYL's post that Goody was told to "show more emotion on camera". In fact it read to me like he was told to smarten up and perform better. Maybe you just jumped to a conclusion that suited your biases?
This topic is titled 'Goodwin shows some emotion....finally,' I took that as a hint and it was exactly what SWYL meant
Chaplin was asked directly about Goody showing emotion on camera, said 'it wasn't his style'
The camera caught one instance, I am sure there are one or two a game the cameras don't catch, but he is not one for constant histrionics

Jesus you rate yourself pal.
Anyone with any inside info you don't like is pulling our chain, while YOU have all the good goss.
FKA
Nah, don't rate myself, just don't like second hand rumours, that contradict what another coach has said
If @Sir Why You Little is quoting something second hand, that is exactly what it is
Considering the team has been closeted interstate for a couple of weeks and taking in the history since Goodwin took over, that very little information leaks out, I was a bit dubious on his assertion that Goodwin was told to show more emotion on camera, going against his whole public demeanourĺ, that is my opinion
Don't mind some inside info, but that is very few and far between on here
I get a bit of info, but never advertise or broadcast it on here
Chaplin's answer was on an online forum for members

Wow. Satyr is having a Lash at McCartney now, because he didn’t hear a piece of information
No doubt whilst McCartney was an employee of the MFC you would have been “mates”, but now....
20 people were involved in a discussion and you were not there
Deal with it..
Hey Cap'n, this is from March
I stand by it, Macca had opinions on everything, doesn't mean it was the right opinion
Brayshaw gets picked by match committee, when he doesn't, it means, like Tomlinson, Jetta and Hibberd, he is not playing his role

Saty would love to hear your thoughts on the game rather than others posts.
No change for me, make Tommy Mc earn his spot back
Just find it amusing when players are put 'on notice' by supporters
Only the coaching staff know exactly what role AVB is being asked to play, seems to me to be a 'defender' across the middle of the ground

13 touches at 53% efficiency after 11 with 72% the week before. Four clangers in both games. His pressure is undoubtedly very good but for me his ball use has been lacking. I don't think he's been terrible but Jones and Tomlinson would both be gunning for his spot, and I think we need to always drive high standards.

You have no idea who i am in contact with, and i will never out a source.
They have been pretty close to the mark over the last 6-7 years and i plan to keep it that wayYes i am getting it second hand from someone who was involved, that is why they were able to tell me what occurred with some authority.
That is how a source operates...Second hand sums it up completely
And same goes for a lot of posters on here, who have 'contact's within the club
I have heard nothing about Goodwin being told, in fact, the opposite, everybody just ignoring the noise
I think I would go with Chain when asked a direct question

Lockhart, Jackson, Brayshaw -> Rivers, TMac, Jones
Jackson shows plenty of promise, but I still think that TMac currently offers more. Lockhart and Brayshaw have had two poor games in a row, and considering the fixture squeeze that's going to be coming up, I think it's important to keep players fresh. Vandenberg on notice, Tomlinson a possibility to replace.
I love it (hilarious) when supporters put players 'on notice" and why AVB?
