  1. That's all very good, but what do we give for Hibberd, who everybody on here is salivating over, if he decided he wants to move? Are we hoping he goes down the breach of contract with Essendon and walks for free
  2. I know, they all knew Cam Schwab had run over your cat, and collectively they said let's not win for SWYL you can agree all you like with Dante my opinion all players/athletes at a professional level enter every contest wanting to/believing they will win
  3. Naive they wouldn't put themselves through all they have to to reach a certain standard if they thought they couldn't win which bit don't you get the last few years were a combination of issues doesn't mean the players didn't want to win
  4. Just following your fine example precious any input to the topic or just you usual sourness
  5. That is a poor example, because they all share in the spoils of the win, if they are in the team, you are contradicting yourself, their whole aim is to win Name calling, I was using an example that you say exists
  6. It was you that said certain players think that way, it is insulting to professional athletes if you think they went out knowing they would lose, maybe you think that way. Any professional athlete NEEDS to think they can win, it is what stands them apart from the wannabees
  7. You actually think an AFL listed player, would not go out thinking they could win a game? An observation, he has only played one game up to now because the Footy Dept thought other players offered a better option, then with his displays in the VFL they had to reward him, perhaps he replaced Bugg or Dawes coz one of them said to Roosy "gee Roosy don't think we can win this game in Darwin"
  8. I agree with what Ted wrote, yes I get as frustrated as others at games, but I couldn't bring myself to boo, or name call etc etc to players Unfortunately some supporters seem to be only able to enjoy footy with a gutful of beer, never understood why myself, this leads to some of the behaviours, the example of the West Coast supporter at the weekend, wonder what he would have done if Petrie had turned to face him Also on here, there are some, who obviously need to criticise everybody and everything to actually make themselves feel better about themselves I am surprised Jack Watts has actually stuck it out, to read some of the posts, and what he has had to endure in the press and over the fence in the last few years, I actually thought he was a mass murderer, or something similar, it is just footy
  9. Does this mean that because you considered that Watts was gone, that everybody who didn't think this way was wrong, that is patronising
  10. Nah, all forums, no matter what they discuss, are full of heroes, who take potshots at everybody and everything from behind the safety of their keyboards, they irmpress me NOT, and I also know that if you have the temerity to actually not agree with the opinion, you become the target.....impressive
  11. Being a fan enables posters to come on here to call players spuds, have them delisted/traded/shot, denigrate their playing ability etc etc is that what you mean?
  12. Vanders against Freo 22 possessions 9 contested 3 marks 5 tackles 2 clearances 1 goal 2 behinds
  13. I had a good chat to Jack about this, it is a bit of everything, he is only expected to play his role now, not be a saviour, the skills of the whole team have improved and he can expect a ball to land in his lap now more often than not, instead of over his head or to his side, his teamates are also reading his game a lot better and know where to run to get a good pass or handball from him, he also knows to follow the mantra espoused by Roos, you have to be rounded, ie attack and defend, you play your role, you stay in the team
  14. It's a public forum precious not everybody agrees with you pessimistic outlook, don't post if you can't handle the feedback, read PJ's article?
  15. If the individual is me you are referring to, if we develop the players properly, if we have guys in the team who play their role to a consistently high standard etc etc then winning will come, it is just that I have other things in my life more important than footy, so the need to get wins as fulfillment is not as strong as others. I just go along knowing that at present, if we have a real crack for 4 quarters we give ourselves a chance of winning, I am not that bothered who is in the 22, the Footy Dept sorts that out, and the cream always rises to the top eventually anyway
  16. So avoiding fixtures that supposedly could have an adverse effect on the teams performance and not giving them the experience of recovering from those fixtures and backing up again is a good thing for team development?
  17. The new Melbourne, hopefully will learn when to move quickly and when to steady it down, we have players, supposedly with better skills than Grimes who play on too quickly at the moment due to inexperience and we turn it over, we did it again on Saturday but fortunately Fremantle are not in a position to punish us like teams such as Adelaide and Hawthorn can. Grimes has been reprogrammed, but it still means sometimes he uses his 99 games experience and knows when not to pull the trigger
  18. The point is, really good teams, ie teams that consistently make finals, can play anywhere, anytime and consistently produce the same standard of performance, there is a knock on West Coast at the moment that they can't travel, so they aren't eveybody's pick despite their outstanding form at home
  19. Read SS' post, the West Coast and Fremantle didn't seem to have an issue, the issue is we didn't have the cattle in the past, hopefully we have now, and the proper systems in place to ensure the recovery is top notch for players
  20. You (and I) are wasting time typing, there is a mindset on here, led by a certain individual, me I want a team that can win anytime, anywhere, any weather conditions, at the moment we haven't quite got that yet
  21. My point, what if we continue to lose games at Etihad, as Paul Roos says, 15 minutes away, will you then call for us to not play there because it is costing us finals?
  22. And the answer to my post SWYL, the losses are at Etihad? You going into the Club to ring around if we make the 8?
  23. And I said Bugg went out and Grimes came in, obviously they had an understanding. What is the new Melbourne, the idea is still to get the ball down the field and kick it through the big sticks and stop the opposition doing the same
  24. So the fact that Grimes has embraced the new game plan being coached down at Casey (which is supposedly the same as the AFL Team), and played it so consistently well that he forced his way back in to the AFL team, means nothing then?
  25. And what if we slip back into old habits and the couple of games we lose are at Ethad under the roof in perfect conditions, and not after the NT games?
