  3. Sorry sheriff for a minute there I thought it was a public forum I was actually commenting on Wiseblood's post, in a humouous way, remember humour, nah probably don"t you dont have to read my posts Wasn't me who trolled in the reply
  4. Sorry DD it was a joke in fact a couple of them follow me on Twitter I exchanged tweets with Maxy Gawn on Sunderland the other day sorry
  5. Listen to a guitarist called Mike Bloomfield and you will see where Page gets his ideas apart from stealing of old blues players that is Bloomfield I would put 5th and the Randy California
  6. Got a bite, that was too easy, thanks precious, you have emailed the Footy Dept on their atrocious selections this year I take it? Offering your services as a footy oracle? Most of the players have me blocked but if you like a photo though do let me know
  7. I never thought I would see you post such heresy.......whatever would DD, Picket and SWYL think, of course they know better than everybody else
  8. I think I got your point, we just have differing opinions on practicing goalkicking
  9. I have a nephew who could bang in goals from anywhere in the 50 when he was 14 when training my point about goal kicking
  10. Nah sorry chap lucky enough to see them all live including Hendrix Beck technically brilliant but cold for me Clapton take him from the blues and he is lost Hendrix Hazel took hold and took it further would have him 4th though Page have riff will travel would like to here something original Berry same notes different order
  11. I have a different slant on training Every AFL player should be able to kick and handball Training to me is teaching where and when to run, when to handball, how to run both ways, playing your role at stoppagez etc etc if the players want to practice goal kicking at the end or on their own time good it will make little difference on game day tired or under pressure Guitarists there are only 3 Rory Gallagher Eddie Hazel Frank Zappa Slash is a cliche As for bending like Beckham I am one of the lucky ones who was/is naturally adept at ball sports, not brilliant but can play most to decent level
  12. I can bend the ball as well, you just have to hit it in a certain spot each time I agree you can practice all you want, doesn't mean on game day, of any sport you will be perfect, most of that is between the ears why we have seen great champions fold under pressure or have a bad day like we had last weekend doesn't mean the players haven't been practicing goal kicking since day one of pre season
  13. Keith Richard would be interested in that, hardly practices. Back to the kicking, every player who comes onto a list should know the basics it is executing them at AFL level in a game that is the issue no amount of practice will change that why players get delisted
  14. It is practice, but the whole tone of this topic was a couple of posters DEMANDING (a knee jerk reaction to the misses last weekend) that the players practice and practice their goal kicking at training, they do and some do extra, my point, it is no guarantee that the result won't be the same this weekend I had a chat to Jeff Garlett about this, he was actually practicing his set shots and taking his time in games and over thinking it, he know goes quickly through and as you can see his set shot is now good, by just kicking it as he has been doing for years in games
  15. Of course they practice, but my point is it doesn't help on match day, otherwise everybody would be 100%
  16. No that is the kicking technique he is comfortable with, hardly misses at training I watch, my point
  17. I bring up the example of Hogan, yes he has his off days, but they had a go at changing his technique last year, and he practiced and practiced and his goal kicking got worse, so has reverted to what is tried and true
  18. I am a great believer that if you have been playing footy since a kid, then you 'should' know how to kick a goal, no amount of practice will replace trying to kick a goal in a game, with the tiredness, the crowd, the perceived pressure
  19. Read below, I am saying that it doesn't matter how much you practice, all AFL players can kick a goal at training That is my point, you can practice standing on one leg blindfolded with three opposition players hanging off you after just running a 15km time trial, the only way you get to be a good reliable kick in games is to kick goals in games
  20. That's the point I have seen them practicing after a gruelling 2 hour preseason session in the heat, hardly miss, the only way you 'practice' kicking for goal in games is in games
  21. You must remember we are only as good as our last game on Demonland so therefore we are a [censored] team kicking for goal I have been at training and watched goals kicked from every angle possible including from outside the fence, this does not necessarily translate to game day, so all the hot air about practice is just that
  22. Yes I know, why I try not to offer outlandish opinions on players abilities or lack thereof, they come back to haunt either way
  23. I have found posts were posters on here were relieved when Darling wasn't picked, and were pleased with Cook, you want me to drag them out? Hindsight is one of the most powerful tools on here
  24. Gee OD, the only player on the list I can look in the eye and you want to get rid of him, can see where you are coming from, but the good thing is, we all have differing opinions, Footy Dept will be the ultimate decision makers though
  25. I don't give a toss what anybody thinks of my posts Joeboy, you should now that by now, anyway back on topic, you need to send your isocam footage to both Roos and Simpson, they both gave him votes to come out top
